A man imposes his will over his partner and relegates her to a subordinate role, expected to obey and please him. He feels he could have all the women he wanted, and even uses traditional norms and culture to keep women restricted in their tamed positions in society. On the other hand, women are expected to be faithful. The double standard is not manmade. It is a consequence of nature that can be observed in most living creatures on earth. Lions and apes, for instance, have one dominant male claiming leadership over several female wives in their social community. But because humans possess the ability to rationalize, people have begun to question this natural arrangement and some women (Im not one of them) are up in arms to revolt, but with little progress, and only because sympathizing men have allowed them.
