Are Dominicans Black or Latino?

well your an american creole i dont consider you black at all, and pepole saying they are ethiopian belizean are simply saying there national origin nothing more(has nothing to do with race) all immigrants do that in america even whites from various european countries say their cultural origin... those who speak French creole are very african not necessarily mixed their language is mixed with african dialects and old colonial French, haitians speak creole true french creole. creole in the US has quite a few meanings even french and spanish mix not having one thing to do with anything african at all if i go to any other country that also has blacks there and they ask where are you from im gonna say im american cause thats what i am..they also can see that im black but some black dominicans do have some deep issues with that and i guess it depends what part of the dominincan republic area they live or grew up...theres different types of blacks(COCOLOS, american descendants in samana from the `1800's) in the DR but they are all dominican overall people dont know the difference from nationality, race and ethnicity  (Apr 20, 2013 | post #939)

Black!!!

From the media/Popular Culture to news to politics the term black in the US really describes one group of people(African Americans) it does not really describes Americans whom are Caribbean black, African immigrants and Latin American blacks and thats the truth which is why you may hear people say Im not black aside from those who have real self esteem issues  (Apr 20, 2013 | post #1)

Hispanic and arab are not racial identities i swear americans have got to have some of the most dumbest and race obsessed MF's on the internet Hispanics are and can be of any race and consist of many cultures and national origins arab- can range from the blue eyed blonde to the darkest brown african its merely a cultural and or linguistic thing there are 21 official arab countries whom are apart of the arab league and IRAN is not one of them they are indo-aryan OR persian the attackers were caucasian http://en.wikipedi a.org/wiki/Peoples _of_the_Caucasus This article deals with the various ethnic groups inhabiting the Caucasus region. There are more than 50 ethnic groups living in the region Caucasian may refer to: Anything from the Caucasus region  (Apr 20, 2013 | post #427)

why are they calling haitians latinos?

Also black in the US really describes one group of people it does not really describes caribbeam blacks, african immigrants and latin american blacks and thats the truth  (Apr 20, 2013 | post #478)

why are they calling haitians latinos?

Some english words do in fact come from some old latin and some latin base languages(spanish, french, itialian etc) educate yourself  (Apr 20, 2013 | post #477)

why are they calling haitians latinos?

no it isn't its just them using their ethnicity the same way other people describe themselves using national origin..The haiti and latino issue is a conflicting one because the meaning of latino is so vague but by all means haiti is a latin american country "Haiti's regional, historical, and ethno-linguistic position is unique for several reasons. It was the first independent nation of Latin America and the Caribbean, the first black-led republic in the world, and the second republic in the Americas when it gained independence in 1804 as part of a successful slave revolution lasting nearly a decade" http://en.wikipedi a.org/wiki/Haiti the french were actually the ones to coin latin america  (Apr 20, 2013 | post #476)
