Your memories and thoughts on our recent past history of overseas wars and rapid domestic change will be most valuable to the rest of us who may be too young to remember those years . Global warming 'undeniable,' scientists say

No, the polar vortex is drunk again like it was over last winter. Scientists see the drunk polar vortex as more proof our atmosphere is broken from too much human-induced greenhouse gas carbon pollution . Obama's new Carbon regulatory rules for U S power plants couldn't have come fast enough . We need more EPA intervention to keep coal and other fossil fuels 'in the ground' before the Carbon Bubble bursts and another world economic collapse erupts like Bush/Cheney's World Recession 2008.  (Aug 23, 2014 | post #35709)

Art Robinson, of Oregon Petition fame is running for Congress. Peter Sinclair has Robinson’s interview by Rachel Maddow. Robinson comes across as more than a little nutty — rather than elaborate on his views on hormesis (radioctive waste is good for you!) he just insisted that quotes from his own writing were lies in some unspecified way." http://scienceblog s.com/deltoid/2010 /10/15/art-robinso n-interviewed/  (Aug 19, 2014 | post #35664)

I guess that you were still in your six year coma so you missed that the Republican -led House Committee on 'Benghazi ' released their full report Absolving the Obama Administration from any wrongdoing-- in other words Republicans judged that President Obama did everything right on the Benghazi attacks --- even praise for Obama's pursuit of capturing the terrorist ring leader who led the attack on our consulate.  (Aug 13, 2014 | post #1185427)

Some good news to hear Senator Barbara Boxer statement in support of Obama's Propose Carbon Pollution Standards for power plants ! Finally! "Senator Boxer's Statement: Oversight Hearing on EPA’s Proposed Carbon Pollution Standards for Existing Power Plants." "The President's new proposal will not only protect public health and save lives, it will enable America to lead the way to avert the most calamitous impacts of climate change -- such as sea level rise, dangerous heat waves, and economic disruption. We must safeguard our children, our grandchildren, and future generations. As the President has stated, "we have a moral obligation to leave our children a planet that's not irrevocably polluted or damaged." The Obama administration clearly gets it and so do the American people. According to a recent Washington Post-ABC poll, a bipartisan majority of the American people want federal limits on carbon pollution. Approximately 70 percent say the federal government should require limits to carbon pollution from existing power plants, and 70 percent support requiring states to limit the amount of carbon pollution within their borders. Climate Change Deniers, also known as Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) Deniers, refers to individuals or groups who disagree with claims that emissions of man-made CO2 significantly enhance the natural atmospheric greenhouse effect. Often, their advocacy is funded by industry groups and corporations — sometimes disclosed, but more often not." http://www.sourcew atch.org/index.php /Climate_Change_De niers So, the main source in the neo-conservative columnist Cal Thomas ' " opinion" piece is Stephen Goddard who has his own agenda for denying human-induced climate change --he's being paid millions of dollars by Big Oil and other fossil fuel Corporate giants like Monsanto to post his climate denialist drivel. :-(  (Jul 15, 2014 | post #1167155)

So you're calling for punishing the victims--that's an ass-backwards way of looking at the situation. Oh ,wait, let me guess, you are a modern day Tea Party 'republican'? Republicans are never happy unless they are either deporting sick kids or bombing the crap out of some foreigners.  (Jul 15, 2014 | post #1167043)

Even carbon producers/Big Business is coming around to realize that it helps their bottom line more when they back the EPA's programs to promote energy efficiency and carbon pollution controls and even a progressive tax on chronic carbon polluters. #ActonClimate& #65279; http://www.miamihe rald.com/2014/07/1 0/4228354/carbon-p roducers-can-meet- epas.html  (Jul 12, 2014 | post #35120)

"July 10, 2014 – The world’s most advanced energy efficiency test bed for buildings is open for business, launched today by U.S. Department of Energy Deputy Secretary Daniel Poneman. DOE’s FLEXLAB at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) is already signing up companies determined to reduce their energy use by testing and deploying the most energy efficient technologies as integrated systems under real-world conditions. The facility includes a rotating test bed to track and test sun exposure impacts, and other high-tech features. In addition to Deputy Secretary Poneman, University of California President Janet Napolitano, Genentech Vice President Carla Boragno, Webcor CEO Jes Pederson, and PG&E Vice President Laurie Giammona joined event host Berkeley Lab Director Paul Alivisatos to speak about the power and potential of this facility to help California, the nation and the world reduce energy use, curb greenhouse gas emissions and save money. - See more at: http://newscenter. lbl.gov/2014/07/10 /department-of-ene rgys-flexlab-opens -testbeds-to-drive -dramatic-increase -in-building-effic iency/#sthash.a7vC NoK3.dpuf  (Jul 10, 2014 | post #35079)
