Bringing new Merchants and industry to UCO and UCI.
Did you NOT read what this forum asks? SUGGESTIONS for new businesses in Union City. These are suggestions to try and help our town and SUPPORT it. I DO support the local businesses, but it wouldn't hurt to bring more into our town so that we don't have to waste gas going somewhere else. It's NOT just about food. We can get a bit more diversified than that, don't you think? (May 30, 2008 | post #38)

Wow, I thought this was started so that people could make suggestions. I didn't know eating was a hobby, but I guess since I do almost everyday it could be considered one. Maybe go back and read my first post. It talks about clothing too, and since I wear those ALMOST everyday I guess that is a hobby of mine too....lol. Have a great day. (May 30, 2008 | post #33)

I'm glad you enjoy their food, but I myself prefer the El Carreton Mexican Restaurant in Winchester. The food at that establishment is very yummy, great prices and the people are great too. Again, this is my opinion. I apologize if I offend anyone. (May 29, 2008 | post #31)

Excuse me if I LIKE Taco Bell, prefer a HOT Sandwich and I used to like going to Ryans because of the variety. I do eat at Subway, but the others don't have the variety some people appreciate. I'm glad you like those places but not everyone has the same taste or cravings. This is a suggestion. Take it or leave it. (May 29, 2008 | post #30)

Taco Bell, a sandwich shop and maybe a nice steakhouse. As I recall, the Boston store did have some pretty nice clothes. I've heard a lot of people have had a hard time finding the necessary gym clothes that the West Side Middle school requires. Having a place to purchase those would seem to help a bit or do away with the requirement, especially since kids grow so fast. It's just hard to find what you need around this town. The selection is so slim anymore. But we do NEED something for the kids like a skating rink or something that will keep them active. (May 28, 2008 | post #20)
Who's calling the shots? Police or Mayor Nelson
Your tired of reading this stuff yet you're try to INSINUATE that you know the people posting on here. I believe now you are instigating by trying to bring other people into your post so that the spotlight shifts from your friend or self. Just sad, your no better than anyone else, yet you act as though you are. (May 26, 2008 | post #84)

The big difference is that I don't believe the council members wife and kids were running around the scene like Deputy Barney Fife or Yosemite Sam with a radio to there ear trying to act like they were actually doing something. (May 25, 2008 | post #70)

I do believe the council member and his family you are referring to live close by to where it occurred. They may have known and been worried about THEIR neighbors. Mr. Nelson crossed the state line to interfere with an INDIANA incident. Trying to ACT helpful is totally different the BEING helpful. He could have stayed back with the other spectators instead of interfering with something that is NOT in his jurisdiction. It seems to me that everyone kept a respectable distance except him. One more thing, HELPING is a term that should be used and carried out more often. (May 23, 2008 | post #51)

Well, why would the Ohio side mayor be at a fire on the INDIANA side? I can understand why the officers and fire departments help each other out on calls, but the mayor should be more concerned about what happens in his own jurisdiction and not interfering in others. And as I recall, the Indiana and Ohio side officers help each other. It's not just the Ohio side helping Indiana. (May 23, 2008 | post #50)

People don't violate others Constitutional rights. Only a governmental entity can violate someones Constitutional Rights. A mayor or police officer can violate them but your neighbor or employer can't. AND I don't care who you are Mayor, Judge or whatever.......You DO NOT have more rights than anyone else! If you don't believe me look it up! (May 22, 2008 | post #22)

It was in the News Gazette today. It said the body of James Riley was found near the 800 block of Union City-Beamsville Rd. He was found in a weeded area just off an abandoned railroad bed. He had been missing since Sunday. (May 21, 2008 | post #8)
30 - 1 Bedroom Apartments in Union City
I agree with you Working Mother. I've seen so many Rockefeller's on welfare it's just crazy. I've seen several welfare recipients that have newer vehicles and dress in name brand clothes. I also understand you can get these clothes at re-sale shops. I'm rarely able to shop at the mall, but have witnessed on one of those occasions someone I know for a fact is on welfare and gets housing assistance spending $120 on a pair of shoes as well as purchasing several other expensive items. My spouse and I both work but can't really afford to spend that kind of money on just one item if we want to make sure all of the bills get paid. I can understand if it's needed, but then a lot of the time the people that really need it are refused. It's just sad that hard working families that pay taxes can't get assistance when they need it, but others can and do abuse it. (May 16, 2008 | post #5)
