Little Steve finally got what he wanted

It doesn't really matter who "we" are. Do you want the Kleenex or do you just want to let the tears drip down over your lips?  (Jun 14, 2013 | post #15)

We are starting to feel sorry for you! Please allow us to send you several boxes of Kleenex so you can cry without such a mess.  (Jun 14, 2013 | post #13)

Steve Martin for Superintendent

It is not about pleasing anyone, and certainly not me for I am not Steve Martin as you allude to in the last sentence of your post. It is about writing something that makes sense. We all have the right to print whatever we wish, with some legal limitations. A person can do that with much thought, consideration and proof in what they print, or they may decide to rant based solely on their own opinions. Either is okay, but thoughtful conversation is much easier to take seriously than ranting simply because you dislike someone. You have made your point loud and clear. Having said that, it is not left up to you, or to me, to determine who the next superintendent will be.  (Jun 5, 2013 | post #34)

You wrote, "And as far as being outsiders, they are! They are new to the board!" Are you advocating that the people of Middlesboro do not have a right to elect the representatives they wish and when they do the people they elect are "outsiders " even though are clearly not? Did you want the past board members to stay in office in perpetuity so that no "outsiders " would replace them when the voters wanted change? That is going beyond rant and directly to strange, or perhaps even to some other form of government. On the contrary, your rant is not 'bothering" anyone; it amuses us. Please, continue! Please!  (Jun 5, 2013 | post #27)

I know who YOU are! Too bad the "OTHER" topic is gone. We were having such fun...  (Jun 5, 2013 | post #23)

Continue to rant all you like; however, you did make at least two mistakes in the above post. All three new board members have had or have "children " in the school system. The retired teacher has had thousands of children in her career as a Middlesboro teacher. The other two actually have children who attend MHS and if I'm not mistaken all three of the new board members graduated from MHS; hardly outsiders. Further, if you go back and look at the vote totals, it was clear the people of Middlesboro wanted to change the school board; "ppl like us". Okay, now you can continue with your rant, for all the good it will do you.  (Jun 5, 2013 | post #21)

You may be suffering from psychological fixation. It would appear you have all the symptoms. You say you don't care about this issue but enjoy thinking about it. Get help. As for freedom of speech, I can only assume you understand that liable is not considered free speech. If you insist on continuing this discourse, why don't you file a formal complaint with the school board? You obviously have a great deal of hard evidence to prove your many points.  (Jun 4, 2013 | post #46)

Hopefully you do more with your own life than attempt to write something meaningful on Topix. Here is the only relevant point; what they do is absolutely none of your business.  (Jun 3, 2013 | post #33)

You wrote, "I also stated that I don't care what she does. Look at my words. I don't care who she dates or if she f*cks the whole class." You write a great deal for someone who doesn't care.  (Jun 3, 2013 | post #31)

You definitely, not probably, can count on you not minding your own business and making up the story as you write.  (Jun 3, 2013 | post #28)

Why don't you let this go? First, and most importantly, it is none of your business. Second, school is over and the age of consent in KY is 16. Third, you are assuming facts not in evidence. Fourth, "persons " assuming facts not in evidence on Topix is a daily practice, so you are in poor company. If you don't like Julia, or Kyle, why don't you have the guts to confront her personally?  (Jun 3, 2013 | post #26)

Cook a finalist for school chief post

You wrote, "It's about complete and utter failure in the effective management of the MISD. It's about decisions that cannot be justified in any way on a professional level. And certainly have nothing to do with what is best for students." As an outsider, I am interested in what you claim. Could you be specific in what areas you "saw her" ineffectively manage, and the non-professional decisions she made?  (May 11, 2013 | post #7)

Middlesboro School District

I have. That is why I responded to your post. You mentioned a "mandate " in your first post. A mandate is usually a court decision. Would you show where you found such a decision? The fact is there is no mandate, or law, that prohibits early release dates for schools in the State of Kentucky as long the required number of days are met for students and the required number of hours are met for teachers.  (Apr 29, 2013 | post #27)

So you think school districts all over the state of Kentucky, including the MISD, just decided, at random, to have early release days without knowing or caring if they were legal? I'm sure that makes perfect sense to you. Why don't you learn a little about your subject before you show your ignorance?  (Apr 28, 2013 | post #24)
