Cayucos Pier hanging

As far as his name goes, he introduced himself to me, but I do not remember his name. I know it's sad that a man's whole life can be summed up by whether we remember his name. I do know that he had not been living there very long. As far as moving here from Kentucky, with farm animals, I wish you all the luck in the world with that. Land is so expensive here, and building restrictions and such are so tight. But, it has been done a time or two before, hasn't it? If you do make it here, stop in to the Smokehouse and have an Ultimate Tuna Sandwich and let me know it's you! BTW our little smokehouse (Ruddell's) is in the September issue of Sunset magazine, if you've got a copy, bring it by, cause we can't find one, lol!  (Aug 24, 2009 | post #22)

Accident on LOVR last night 7-30-09. Know anything?

Well, at least I haven't gone crazy. Thank you. Wonder if they keep a lot of these things out of the paper during tourist season. Let me know if you hear anything.  (Aug 7, 2009 | post #5)

Accident on LOVR last night 7-30-09. Know anything?

Thank you, Beachcomber. This can't be it, though, because the incident I experienced was on Thursday at 9pm, on Los Osos Valley Road. Everything else fits, which is weird, really weird. The time, the town, the southbound lane, what looked like a pedestrian hit, cpr being performed. But the article says Saturday, on hwy 101. If you hear anything else, let me know. Thank you!  (Aug 3, 2009 | post #3)

Cayucos Pier hanging

Hi Beachcomber The people I can think of off hand are, Alex, Lucille, Paul, Bruce, and Robert. There were several others whose names escape me at the moment. Alex and Lucille washed up over between the pier and the rocks, (several months apart) on the south side. They were not suicides, even though it was implied that they were. I knew Alex and he was doing really well. Lucille never went by the water, so what was she doing IN the water? I'm not hinting at foul play, just strange circumstances. What a morbid discussion. I work at the Smokehouse, so I hear everything. I also have a good view of the ocean. Did you hear about the great white sighting off 4th street? So much happening in the water, that is why I choose to wave at all the wildlife from the shore. ps. I am not trying to scare off any tourists. Our town is a wonderful town, with beautiful people and good weather. Come and play! It is not a dangerous place. Very serene, actually.  (Aug 1, 2009 | post #16)

There is a strange phenomenon happening in Cayucos. I don't know whether it is the high concentration of artists who live there, or coincidence, but there have been quite a few deaths this year and it is unnerving. All the people have been between fourty and sixty years old; several drownings, quite a few sudden deaths, and now this. Please pray that Death will take a holiday and move on. It is too small a town for such a high concentration of deaths in six months.  (Jul 31, 2009 | post #13)

Roandoak of God near Morro Bay: Group home under fire

That must have been quite some time ago. A new owner has taken over, cleaned it up, gotten all the crack heads and cult freaks out of there, and established a very nice, albeit old, facility. The new owner, Joseph Goodwin, is a Christian, but he is not a cult leader. The former owner split town and started another cult fortress down in the southern states somewhere after he gave up the 'roanoak' property. It is no longer called Roanoak. The new name is Chorro Creek Training Center. It houses homeless people, with strict policies of no drinking or drug use, and also helps them get back into society with training programs. The facility, and Joseph, is quite an asset to the community.  (Jul 31, 2009 | post #2)

Accident on LOVR last night 7-30-09. Know anything?

I was driving up Los Osos Valley Road last night around 9pm, on my way to Slo, and traffic came to an abrupt halt. I realised an accident had just happened. There were multiple cars, and a person lying in the road, and people around him or her. People were jumping out of their cars to help. Lots of ambulances finally roared to the scene. I drove on, not wanting to contribute to the chaos. I have checked every media today, and nothing about that accident. Anyone know what happened? The sight of that person in the road was chilling and I want to know if they survived.  (Jul 31, 2009 | post #1)
