Youth Baseball Fundraiser

Make a Kid's Dream come True The Waukesha Blazers "White Lightning" team is having a fundraiser that would allow the team to travel to Cooperstown Dreams Park, NY. All youth baseball teams that participate at Cooperstown Dreams Park there is much more than the honor of playing in the week long tournament. It also means: - Each team member will be inducted into the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame. - Each team member receives the coveted American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame ring and officially becomes one of the Cooperstown Dreams Park Little Majors. - A photo of the team is affixed to the Commemorative Induction Plaque for future enshrinement on the walls of the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame. Help support these kids and allow them to live a childhood dream. More info: http://whitelightn ingfundraiser.com/  (Sep 28, 2013 | post #1)

Waukesha Guitar Town to Honor Les Paul?

As an active member of my community -- albeit it from the perspective of an internet marketing consultant -- I am very passionate over the recent announcement by the Gibson Guitar Corporation that Waukesha, WI is going to be the 8th city in the world to be named "guitar town" to honor Les Paul. Well, what started out as a good cause just may be heading into a quandary of sorts as to where the proceeds of sponsorship money for the 10 foot guitars are going to go, as well as the transparency of the project as a whole... As the home of Les Paul (http://www.homeof lespaul.com/) Waukesha is vibrant with historical places, memorials, and an exhibit at the Waukesha County Museum -- an exhibit that is being upgraded -- that tell the very nature of where Les Paul was born and raised, and where his body has been laid to rest. I only hope, for the sake of the legend of this great, great man, that politics and money do not ruin what could ultimately be very beneficial for the city of Waukesha?  (Feb 26, 2012 | post #1)
