The odd shape almost certainly due to the polar location (unlike the Red Spot), but but I don't think that the forces that produce the shape are entirely understood. (Thursday Dec 3 | post #3452)
Josh Greenberger Is Right Again About Science Dishonesty
So you have been an obsessed follower of Josh since he was born? His little shadow, maybe...? Perhaps you should try reality... (Wednesday Dec 2 | post #25)
Josh Greenberger Is Right Again About Science Dishonesty
I appreciate being included in such an august list! You, are, of course, a fraud... (Wednesday Dec 2 | post #24)
Do you believe in Evolutuion or the Bible?
Ok... But he forgot to use his smiley face:) (Wednesday Dec 2 | post #3398)

I am indeed:) Retired now, though... More time to garden, draw, hike, (and goof off?)... (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #3380)
Do you believe in Evolutuion or the Bible?
Please finish school...and study hard during science class; you need to acquire considerably more education on the subject! (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #3371)
Response: Intelligent design should not excluded from the study...
Don't tell that to Harrison Schmidt! He has fascinating tales of his Moon walks...and we geologists are touchy about phony science claims:) There's very little difference between fundamentalists and Moon-hoaxers... (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #8)
Response: Intelligent design should not excluded from the study...
There are a few like that...unfortunate ly. I met a middle-school science teacher who believed that the Earth was formed 6,000 years ago (he told me "oh...so you are a follower of the old Earth theory"!) I got to tell his whole class about the Earth's multi-billion year history in a 45 minute talk:) I also know of a local high school science teacher who spent a class period declaring that the manned Moon landings were a hoax! Do you believe in Evolutuion or the Bible?
Your whole "argument " is that you just can't believe it... Not a very convincing statement! "Monkeys " and Humans evolved from earlier primates; a number of intermediate (transitional) organisms are known. These transitional creatures existed; your disbelief is irrelevant. Do you believe in Evolutuion or the Bible?
Well... please enlighten us as to the facts which disprove evolutionary biology; be sure to include detailed explanations of transitional fossil life forms (feathered Dinos, half-fish\half amphibians, etc...) I'll be awaitin'... (Monday Nov 30 | post #3319)

Well, it appears to be a long-lived polar storm, similar to ones seen on Venus; there is a smiilar feature at the other Saturn pole; they wouldn't be "connected " to Saturn's core, since they are atmospheric phenomena. Such storms are often long-lived; a 20 year life isn't surprising. Saturn doesn't have as active a weather system as Jupiter, but such features seem to be a characteristic of planets with dense atmospheres. It's neat; it's not fully understood; but it's not an unanswerable mystery either... (Monday Nov 30 | post #3318)

Darwin's "belief" in that subject is not relevant. Telescopes powerful enough to resolve stars in other galaxies did not exist until the Hooker reflector was completed at Mt. Wilson in the early 20th Century. Many astronomers HAD speculated that spiral nebulae were separate galaxies, but the evidence had previously been lacking. (Sunday Nov 29 | post #3299)

Only if you ignore everything that you don't like... The fossils; the other data; are all real... Your lack of education on the matter (AND your attitude!) is the problem. (Sunday Nov 29 | post #3290)
Intelligent Design Book Delivers Blow to Darwin
Yep...that's what we're saying. You might read up on "Hagfish " for some interesting concepts... (Sunday Nov 29 | post #105)
