NMSU's Colston suspended after felony charge (2:55 p.m.)

You are right. I agree camps are very important for this state in general. That was the main way I got looked at by D-1 school by attending those camps becasue very rarely do school come to NM to look at players for football. Baseball is a different story. But the way people talk here in Cruces about thier high school footbal players is just plain crazy. Then you see those same players with the huge heads in town who think their $hit don's stink. hmmmm I wonder why?  (Oct 15, 2009 | post #36)

When will people in this town realize these high school kids are not D-1 talent they may be able to go play and be somewhat successful at a D-11 school but no matter what you people say this is still a D-1 school. yes we have stuggled but it is still D-1 we compete with top notch D-1 talent. I played for the AGGIES and played with local (so called talent who had to walk on and they were scout team players) just becasue they have won some state titles in the past 10 years does not warrant them being able to play at the D-1 level. i can think of about 5 kids from all three local high school in the past 10 years or so who maybe would have a shot at making a team but not contributing anything. I played with a couple who were great and contributed a very talented WR and DL but thats it.  (Oct 14, 2009 | post #21)

All you people complaining about the traffic can kiss any other movie production good bye in this cry baby town. As soon as these people are done filming, they will head right back to Hollywood and let them know what babies you all are here and to never film in this cry baby town again. Come on a press conference to deal with the traffic? you dont see this happening in ALbuquerque & they film movies and tv series there all the time. And yes they close down main roads with 3x as many people being affected. You all act like this is a year long process get over it!!!!  (Oct 8, 2009 | post #105)

These local footbal players would never make it at the D-1 level. I asked this before and no one could seem to answer. Someone please tell me what any High School football player from Las Cruces has done on the D-1 level. Name me 10 kids in the last ten years who have actually gone to a d-1 school and done anything on the field. maybe 1-2!!!! wow these Las Cruces people and their fantasy thinking regarding LC high school football players!!! its getting really old.  (Sep 8, 2009 | post #47)

wow Pete you really have no clue!!!! You should look up the numbers and see how much $ footbal really brings in to this school as well as every other D-1 school in the country.  (Sep 8, 2009 | post #46)
