Headless deer turning up in northeastern Wisconsin

Cheddarheads hunting over bait for bar decor? Could this be a tragic offshoot of Chronic Wasting Disease? Spontaneous head ejecto? Roving bands of militant taxidermists? Communists? New World Order?  (Nov 16, 2010 | post #14)

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson still fighting fumbl...

Hey -He's young, and in a way, this might be a good thing. AP is a natural, but everyone needs to look at the fundamentals once and a while. I agree - give him a little woood to sit on for a bit, and let him think. Nothing focuses the mind like knowing it was YOUR screwup that could mean big trouble. Adversity builds character. When you are as gifted as AP, it's tougher to find the flaws. HERE is a good one to work on... We still love you AP, just make protecting the ball an instinct and focus on exploiting those holes!!!  (Nov 30, 2009 | post #17)

Face it: NFL WILL get new stadium

Madaman for Governor!!! No crazy talk, no name calling, just an idea that could work! The vikings are as important a part of Minnesota heritage as any sports team could possibly be,but it's NOT just about them. While I am a conservative, I also know that there is no "reclamation center" where the taxpayers can hold the money they WOULD have paid in taxes and compare it agaist the benifits they might acrue from having paid them. Cities and municipalities build facilities to promote trade, the arts and public discourse. Remember the whole "Promote the general welfare and secure the blesssings of liberty" part of the preamble? A stadium isn't just football. It's concerts, truck pulls, horse shows, political party conventions, final fours, X-Games and Special Olympics. I'm not interested in most of those things, yet the surrounding community and businesses (and tax base) will all profit from them. It's an investment. Only AIG knuckleheads and the extremes of either party demand an instant return on investment, and they don't believe it either. Just demagogery and jackassery. Go East Side Stadium - the only reason to be against it is it is closer and easier for the cheeseheads to bumble into...  (Nov 22, 2009 | post #10)

School changes the dynamics of recess

I went to that school as a kid, and I got the crap kicked out of me on that playground for making a smart **** ed comment to a bigger kid. I learned something. Don't be a smart **** to someone who can rub you in the dirt. (It wasn't SO bad - we were 6-7 for cripes sakes...) The lesson was far more valuable than the pseudo-science sociobabble currently flowing. Sometimes life's lessons are hard. no social worker can change that. I think learning the lesson early when it is kids on a playground is better than learning late when the violence can actually hurt. Let them fight a bit young. work them hard and tire them out in school. Add in some parents who pay attention, and we might get somewhere....  (Oct 12, 2009 | post #22)

Minnesota Vikings' Adrian Peterson on Brett Favre: Ask Br...

1. AP reflects well on the Vikes, the NFL and professional athletes in general. I am happy that there seems to be an actual role model on the team who is talented, articulate and seems to be able to maintain perspective on his incredible gifts. Don't screw up, kid! 2. Screwing up would be loosing perspective, humility and talent - And his name is Brett Farve.  (May 21, 2009 | post #32)

Alec Baldwin apologizes for mail-order bride joke

Yeah... Right. The Government of the Phillippines will gladly condone the active traffic in 14 year old bar girls on the streets of the capitol, but a representative gets cranky when someone makes a joke about mail order brides? Lighten up! PS. How is international internet matchmaking any different from eHarmony? Women from poor countries can fulfill their dreams by meeting socially awkward comparitively wealthy american men, and subsequently divorcing them for fun, profit and citizenship. It's not traditional romance, but it works for some. Baldwin has nothing to apologize for. This is simply a true-life comedy.  (May 21, 2009 | post #2)
