El Paso Forum Is Dead?

I think people are just tired of the same ol' people throwing around the term "tea baggers" as if they were picked on in grade school their whole lives and use the forum as a avenue to take out their frustation.  (Jan 2, 2013 | post #45)

Should Gun Permit Owners Address be Posted in El Paso Times

First of all, what's with the "tea baggers" insults? Second of all, why do you think releasing names/address of gun owners is going to increase childrens safety? . . . Registered law abiding gun owners are not who you need to worry about. It's the criminals that obtain guns illegally that you need to worry about. Releasing names/address does 1 of 2 things. 1) It tells criminals NOT to rob those houses, or 2) it tells criminals where they can obtain a weapon through theft. Releasing those names does more harm than good.  (Dec 29, 2012 | post #27)

What good could possibly come from it? Non-sense.  (Dec 27, 2012 | post #1)

You're right. They're not banned. They're just next to impossible to own without violating a state or federal law.  (Dec 23, 2012 | post #6)

BOTH of the D.C. Snipers were black muslims. . . Listen, you obviously aren't basing your comments on facts. Like I said, step out of the box.  (Dec 22, 2012 | post #28)

You're the one who brought genocide to the conversation. The D.C. sniper wasn't white. Oregon car bomber wasn't white. May I suggest you step outside your box?  (Dec 22, 2012 | post #24)

None of your ranting makes sense. "White culture were the only ones intrenched with producing weapons and genocide and slavery". Are you completely blind? There are CURRENT AFFAIRS that contradict your claim. Syria, Iraq, Iran, ALL examples of offenders. Your ignorance is overwhelming.  (Dec 22, 2012 | post #23)

Joel Myrick. Lisa Castellano. Sad thing is, you are probably really familiar with the name Adam Lanza. You've probably never heard of Joel Myrickm, Lisa Castellano, and many others like them. You are a media driven puppet. Here's some more food for thought. http://www.youtube .com/watch?v=BuLgO 4wo4xI  (Dec 22, 2012 | post #17)

You gave 2 examples in a world full of examples. What about the genocide of the Mayans in Guatamala? They weren't white. Rowanda, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, China. . . all guilty of genocide at some point in history. Do you have any idea how much genocide is taking place TODAY in the Middle East? No race is completely innocent of genocide. Disgusts me that you're trying to make this a "white people" thing. Typical ignorant response that I'd expect of a racist hispanic in El Paso. Your comment is ignorant and uneducated. Blasphemy like that makes me ashamed to be an El Paso native.  (Dec 22, 2012 | post #17)

Sniper rifles aren't used to hunt wild game? Do you have any idea how many times a personal firearm (pistol) has prevented a massacre? Do you really think prohibition of firearms is going to take guns off the streets? It didn't work with alcohol, and it isn't working with drugs. All you're doing with gun prohibition is disarming law abiding citizens.  (Dec 22, 2012 | post #10)

You make a valid point. I think the smart answer would be to leave it to the private corporations to protect their own reputations. However, when it comes to our public services, such as schools, there should probably be an armed guard present for places where a mass amount of people are vulnerable. Just like private corporations, the local, state and federal authorities should also protect their reputations. I've got family in Newtown, CT and a neice that attends Sandy Hook School (the locals dont call it Sandy Hook Elementry School, contrary to what you hear on the media). After attending her birthday party last Saturday and speaking with many parents of survivors, it was evident that they were devistated about the impact the attack had on the community's reputation as a safe, quiet and respectable town.  (Dec 22, 2012 | post #15)

Banning guns is not the answer. First of all, machine guns and automatic pistols are banned. Fact of the matter is, banning guns wont solve anything. Criminals wont surrender their guns. Banning guns will only leave the good guys more vulnerable. Look how gun bans worked in Mexico. Who's got the guns? The Cartel and the Feds. Everyone else is defenseless. Historical events show that countries who have gun prohibition laws are often subject to horrendous crimes, including genocide. Some examples for you: Rowanda, Sudan, Chechnya. I encourage you to research the Chechnya School Hostage situation. On another subject, after WWII, the Japanese Emperor admitted that the only reason he didn't invade the United States was because Americans are afforded the right to bear arms, making the entire country an army. Prohibition of guns is not the answer. It didn't work with Alcohol. It isn't working with drugs. It will cause more problems than solutions.  (Dec 22, 2012 | post #3)

Texas Senate passes bullying bill

I think the Senate should also work on a bill that prohibits cliche groups who rally on depression (emo). Once upon a time, kids used to have to stand up for themselves. The future generation is looking grim and weak.  (Apr 26, 2011 | post #3)
