Gilberts, Elgin officers recognized for saving lives

Neither do you...what ...maybe a 6th grade education putting an LOL on the end like some stupid america on line idiot...go back to that couch granpa/ma  (Feb 23, 2014 | post #14)

This drug could make a huge dent in heroin addiction. So ...

I'll simply repeat what the article said, it costs more that Methadone. It's pretty clear what's happened with this drug...They really wanted to try to replace Methadone with something that they were going to get a 'piece of the action' with. So the US government teams up with Reckitt Benckiser the drugs patient holder and decide to not only market it here, but allow doctors, with virtually no opiate prescribing training at all, save a few hours on-line, give it out, to any that show up...and bonus of bonus' the big insurance companies agree to pay for it, with no exclusions or anything, as if it were just any ole drug. When at the same time denying claims by legitimate insured people to cover Methadone. Even after the Parity Act was passed. BUT the two things they never expected were that this drug does nothing for people that have real addictions..long time users, even high dose pain medicine addicts, the doses are very low. Most people that have opiate addictions are on much higher maintenance doses than 40-60 milligrams, this drug can not be used on them unless they detox and lower their doses first, who is going to do that, no one that's who. Failure two was that misuse of the drug was horrendous, something that they finally admitted...BUT only when the patient was about to expire...then and only then did they decide, 'hey we better change the composition of this drug to stop abuse'...when really all they were concerned with was loosing the patient. This is how the US helps its addicts. It's about the money...always the Damn money. While families are ruined and people die, it's ok they're just addicts. So now they are going to force the public to pay for what insurance companies should have, by law, been covering since 2010, that's what the "New" addiction treatment is...except instead of making insurance companies honor the claims...now they will make everyone else pay for it by higher prices and calling it a different name.  (Nov 24, 2013 | post #1)

They do what they are paid to do...no more, no less. How many times have anyone seen, not only our local..."hero s" sitting in their squad cars on a hot summer day with AC blowing on their fat asses, but other county, city and state as well. They demand high pay, they seem to think once they get the job the 'work' is over. They harass people they have no business harassing instead of being 'real cops'. If they were put to work in a real dangerous area, say South Chicago or Houston Tx...they'd lock their doors and find a nice blind spot to sit in and wet those pants! They buy these hugely expensive Swat trucks that they truly have no use for...oh except to rip the front of the suspected drug houses...and then discover they are at the wrong address. Not saying that all of Elgin police are like this...but the numbers are increasing daily. They're overweight, complacent and act as if every little thing they do needs to be shouted from the highest mountain top. It's their job, it's what they signed up for, if they want to be petted for everything they do...they should've picked a different occupation. I'm so sick of reading what wonderful things they do...I'll bet the last 4-5 people that were robbed and beaten while on their way home from jobs, in places where it's been KNOWN to happen, agree with me on this. Know what....when they do something worth while to curtail crime then they can be recognized...oh but wait...that's what they're suppose to do isn't it! Instead of trying to Make readers notice them...how about a little humility, after all that's what 'Public Service' is...helping the public, not doing it then expecting a prize, names in headlines or some stupid plaque.  (Nov 24, 2013 | post #7)

Are you even serious, that's what they are suppose to do. This is why they took the job. So now we must send accolades. Screw that, they are only doing what they are paid for..next thing they'll be wanting to give them cash awards...the majority of them are lazy, grossly overweight and couldn't run a city block if their lives depended on it...unless there was a huge bag of food at the end. The ones that aren't fat, and lazy have BMC, 'Big Man Complex" don't think I need to explain THAT. Look at how many of them show up for a simple traffic ticket. My God, there will be 4-5 cars. with dogs...detectives. ..WTF a traffic stop really?!? Your tax dollars at work Elgin. Maybe they should start by heading down by Nicks and start busting all those POS that sell drugs and sit around smoking crack and drinking all day and night. Make a damn difference why don't ya. People are getting robbed and beaten down there on a daily basis try stopping some of that. I had reason to cash a check about a week ago, I went to Nicks and in the 3-5 minutes I was there I personally witnessed 2 drug deals, right there, in the parking lot in front. If I saw it anyone can. I went to Buttera 2 weeks ago and watched 3 cars drive through what appeared to be a drive up drug stop. DO your jobs, stop porkin out in those cars. Get out walk over and arrest them...or would you have to do a bit of movement...oh yes, they might just decide to run, then where would you be....looking fat and dumb...and out of breath long before the race began.  (Nov 19, 2013 | post #2)

Pain med prescribing guidelines mostly agree

Pain med prescribing guidelines mostly agree

then why don't they do it, so many people die because they are prescribed methadone and were never told how deadly it is and how little it can take to kill someone that has no opioid knowledge or past dependance. This stuff is the furthest you can get from an aspirin or even codeine. There needs to be so many danger and warning labels on this stuff that the only way you could get to it is to read everything. Most people that die from it have no idea what it is or how it works. Sadly it;s mistaken for a party drug...yea a funeral party. As much information as there is out there now with the internet a person would be very foolish, or have a death wish, to tamper with it until they know about it. It's very hard to feel bad when someone dies from taking methadone, because most of the time the ones that die...have no business taking it, they have no prescription and usually are trying to simply get high. Doctors need to warn, then when people give them out or abuse them and die, the blame can go where it deserves to go...to the morons that take them...not the drug company, not the doctor, not the drug!  (Nov 13, 2013 | post #1)

State Police: Elgin man's death at oasis likely suicide

WoW, how fu%ked up is it that people that know nothing of this Man's life are ready to toss their ignorance into the arena. What's wrong with you. Whatever Chris did, in my opinion, it doesn't begin to stoop to the lows that you've dropped too by posting what you did. I'm disgusted and embarrassed by all of you...and you Do know who you are. Whoever your parents are, they have very seriously failed us, by seriously failing you and condemning us to breath the same air you do. *****God Bless Chris and his family, and whatever he did is his business not some cowards that don't even have the courage to sign in to a web site.*****  (Jul 4, 2013 | post #8)

Felons shouldn't own Blackjacks strip club, group tells K...

hmmm,...living pretty close to this place has it's own special "Yuck Factor". I used to drive past it 5 nights a week on my way to work, more often than not the guys coming out of there were so drunk they barely escaped an accident when on their way home. I don't understand why the police allow them to keep driving. If I see it they have to see it and know, are they paid by the club owners, (or someone)?? I wondered the same thing about the 'Diamond Gentlemen's Club' at Il.rte#64 & Powis Rd........BUT..... here's the difference.... Du Page County, which takes no prisoners when it comes to stuff like this, shut them down so fast I was amazed. Oh the first owners sold it, then it reopened...but not for long. The County took the property saying they had to have it for highway usage. (a right turn lane, I believe it was) Sooo it seems that if you have the right people/muscle,.... ..AND.....no one is being slipped any extra spending cash, closing this Craphole down shouldn't be too hard at all. Hey.... I'm just sayin...  (Jul 4, 2013 | post #1)

Where is all the racism coming from??

WTF does that have to do with the subject....... Is that the best you can do. It's people like you and the the others here who can't reply on the subject heading, they have no obvious intelligence, you are the people that's being talked about, the haters/racists. WTF does it matter where he is/where he came from for christ sake. He obviously asked a question that touched a open nerve for you. So why not just answer the question instead of writing something so incredibly stupid that anything else you say will ony serve to reinforce how obviously ignorant you are.  (Sep 19, 2011 | post #33)
