Levi Evans and Preston Odie animal abusers

It's probably best just to ignore "Smh", they're obviously an uneducated tramp that overuses exclamation points and "lmao", darting around the issues and spewing forth more bile and idiocy like a common guttersnipe. Anyway. Preston and Levi are both sadistic idiots, and I'd love to see them in jail, but the sentence they were given, though light, is enough. The support that was shown in favor of Puppy Doe showed the community that animal activists are serious about protecting those without voices, and reminding them that we will always be there to lend a helping hand to animals who can't help themselves. Dresden, and surrounding areas as well, will now know Preston Odle and Levi Evans for what they are - sick, sadistic monsters, and hopefully now, they will be treated as such wherever they go.  (Nov 15, 2012 | post #26)

Puppy Killers Preston Odle and Levi Evans get probation

What they did was sickening and disgusting, a pathetic act of unimaginable cruelty to a small, defenseless creature that couldn't prevent it. That they got off with such a light punishment is revolting, and more than disappointing.  (Nov 15, 2012 | post #23)

legalizing marijuana

Honestly, it doesn't even matter if it gets legalized or not. Millions of people do it every day and it's still illegal, so. But, yeah, I think it should be legal. It doesn't inhibit ability to function, or cause rage fits or.. anything negative, really. I honestly find it a little disturbing that cancer-causing nicotine filled cigarettes are legal when harmless pot is not. Oh, America.  (Nov 15, 2012 | post #24)

The Bible Belt

Not at all. I was raised around a Christian family, and I've turned away from all religion, deciding instead to simply be an antitheist. I'm not sure why this simple question suddenly exploded into political discussion; I don't see how someone's religion can impact their political thoughts, as the two should have virtually nothing to do with one another, but.. I guess as we do live in the Bible Belt, it's only a matter of time before religion gets thrown into politics to muddy the issues.  (Nov 15, 2012 | post #9)

Do Christians Think Mormonism Is A Cult????

Really, all religions are cult, as defined as a system of worship, especially when they refer to rites/ceremonies. Being a cult, or religious group, isn't a bad thing, and as for choosing either Mormonism or Christianity -- go with whichever one you feel more comfortable with, whichever one you believe in the most.  (Sep 25, 2012 | post #6)

Gay Marriage - Martin, TN

Except that your "doctrine " isn't sound at all, there is no evidence and, realistically speaking, is nothing more than an elaborate work of fiction that was blown way out of proportion simply because when it was written, people were uneducated and needed the answers that science wasn't around to provide. I am not saying religious people now are uneducated, they simply follow an uneducated teaching. Regardless of whether or not the Bible says gay marriage is wrong, it shouldn't matter. Religion has no foothold in the law of the States -- our founding fathers made it perfectly clear that religious views weren't to influence laws, or any governing of the country. Denying people their rights through your own personal judgment of them and their actions (especially when the act of judging others goes against the Bible most people use as the backbone of their arguments against homosexuality, ironic) is a despicable and purely hate-filled act. Shameful, indeed.  (Sep 16, 2012 | post #76)

Obama-Marriage - Greenfield, TN

When people choose to get married, they are given the option of a religious marriage, or not. Marriage is a principle of law; a church, and religion as a whole, is not required for a legal marriage. God is useless in this debate, as the poster above me said. "God" and religion as a whole should have no say in any legal matter, because religion does not factor in to our government. That is why we have separation of church and state. Basing laws on one religion in a country that practices the freedom to follow whatever belief you want is ridiculous. It doesn't make sense.  (Jun 16, 2012 | post #16)

EW James

Uh. Don't assume that I'm lazy just because I think it's ridiculous that the employees whose specific duty it is to carry out groceries, aren't doing their job. I won't let them carry my groceries out simply because I'm young enough, and able enough, to do it myself, and they could be assisting those that can't. I carry out my own groceries each time, whether by loading my arms up with groceries or keeping the bags in the cart. I do go shopping with my grandparents when I can. Not every one has unlimited free time to lend to tasks like this, though, and it is then that the carry-out employees need to step in and assist them. Get your facts straight and don't assume things about someone you know nothing about.  (Jun 16, 2012 | post #10)

Tennessee teen puppy torture case to be sent to grand jury

I hope the grand jury trial results in a swift and effective punishment for these monsters. I'm from near Dresden, and I was at the trial on the 13th. I was outside of the courthouse when policemen escorted Levi and Preston in to the building. I can honestly say they looked as though they had done nothing wrong, and it was infuriating. I went to school with Levi, and honestly this.. was not a surprise. He seems like the kind of low-down cretin that would do something like this, and so does Preston, that drunken idiot. I just hope the next trial is a little more justifying.  (Jun 15, 2012 | post #24)

EW James

If it's the workers' jobs to carry out the customer's groceries, they need to fulfill that job description. From what this person is saying, they're already carrying out their own groceries; the difference between EW James and Walmart, though, is that EW James' has workers whose specific job it is to carry out bags (or, a part of their job).  (Jun 14, 2012 | post #3)

Housing codes

It probably depends on where you live, and if the property is rented out by a private owner or a business. If you have a land lord, I'd talk to them. If you live in the city, it's probably best to ask the courthouse.  (Jun 11, 2012 | post #2)
