Off-road vehicle advocates work to smooth path to future parks
As for ignorant eco-zealots such as Jubilee, it might be wise, at least for your sake, to exhale and clear your clouded judgment from your empty orifice, your bottom-facing cranial cavity. Seems to me you're driving some Yugo knockoff and are envious of what bigger and far-less inferior men than yourself might drive. If you were more right-minded, you might actually have an argument in the few urban, pseudo off-roaders who do indeed wreak havoc on the off-road trails. But do understand that these are a very select few, commonly comprised of Neanderthal suburbanites and their illegal alien cohorts and do not personify the core SoCal off road enthusiast. Perhaps the best place to get a glimpse at the wholesome off-road enthusiasts is at an AMA District 37 Desert Race, where hard-working American families amass among friends, as self-sufficient and utterly independent-minded individuals. They are friendly, responsible and quite often self-sacrificing military veterans. They are iconic Americans. I can well understand why you might well possess the inferiority complex of small man syndrome when among such men as I have prefaced here. Most human-defeatist eco-zealots do. The Sierra Club is a fraudulent pest. The ELF and Earth First are merely eco-nazi terrorists. If you've never happened upon some of their more radical actions, begin by reading the Earth First Death Manual to catch a glimpse of their operation. As for the ecological dangers that exists amid the San Gabriel Mountains, you may want to consider the plethora of marijuana farms and slew of illegal immigrants that manage many of them. Not only are they well-armed and quite threatening should you happen upon them when hiking the unbeaten path, they spike natural springs with PVC for irrigation and defecate in water runoff. This is no great benefit to the welfare of the wildlife, which might otherwise quench its thirst therein, and I guarantee most eco-nazis dare engage the battle to be fought on this front, since they tend to focus on less threatening adversaries who boast bigger coffers, such as law-abiding citizens who could just as easily crush them, if not restrained by better judgement. Think this drug-harvesting excrement of the mountains ain't so? I've spent enough time in the mountains to know. And with many family and friends who fill the ranks of law enforcement agencies, such as the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and other federally-focused special operations enforcement agencies, I have developed a formidably clear snapshot of the situation. Now, as for the article, the term wilderness is used far too loosely, especially since Azusa Canyon OHV area is by no means a wilderness area, particularly as it is legally defined. The Sierra Club understands the explicit definition of this term and opts to make use of it, however insignificantly, to its dishonest advantage. As for the parks, this is a good and sensible idea on many fronts, but expect an onslaught of legal battles that will once again render the public good will impotent and its efforts tied up in financially-grueli ng legal battles amid an era of budget deficits. Once again, my projection is that the anti-human and ultra-fanatical tree huggers will win, even if they happen to loose some ground. During my youth, I volunteered considerably with such organizations as the Angeles Forest Volunteers and spent much of my time running and backpacking the range. My least favorite activity during those years was picking up after the ever-increasing amounts of dirty diapers floating down the east and west fork of the San Gabriel River. Need I say from who the crux of this trash was disseminated? If you've ever been to a hot location at a Baja 1000, such as a jump, you may arrive a day prior to the race to see it pristine clean. At the end of race day, the location is literally a dump, and the culprit is inevitably comprised of the urban locals, since it is a cultural norm. To digress slightly, import culture that is not required nor cares to assimilate, and you import the vary third world culture from which those masses have cowardly fled. And those that remain in their wake, are even more the worse off due to the open northern floodgates, since, as I have learned through my travels south, the resulting highway is a freeway of fears and tears (drugs, violence, abductions, forced prostitution for the under-aged and the rest). Anyhow, I personally prefer to take my off-road excursions to more free and adventurous locations throughout the west, but for the sake of the masses who cling closer to urban environs, my vote stands on behalf of the off-road enthusiast.
