Fire Destroys Community Playground, Again

Oh how correct you are! Fargo and our fellow city council members have repeatedly lied to everyone from DWR, Army Corps of Engineers, and FEMA, all the way down to we the people who live in this city. Take a look at the original Natomas basin general plan which calls for its own police substation, additional fire stations, community park with youth center, etc., etc. Now look at how many homes have gone up in the basin over the last 5-8 years, yet no police station yet. I agree with you 1,000%. Our city leaders are going to be the undoing of Sacramento.  (May 27, 2008 | post #27)

Johnson, Fargo Spar in Face-to-Face Debate

To answer your small-minded questions truthfully... Take a look at every other NBA team's arena and you will see why. Arco Arena is old, outdated, and smaller in size than pretty much every NBA arena out there. And, yes, the Maloofs are rich enough to pay for it, but if they did that, that also means they would have the right to collect every single penny the arena generates, that includes concerts and any other events which aren't King's games. Again, take a look at all the other arena's in major cities which NBA teams play at. Most are funded by a joint agreement between the city and the team's owners whereby profits are split between the two. These profits are extremely advantagous to the city. It makes them a good chunk of money. So does all that make sense. For the last time people, this arena is not just for the Kings!! It is a public facility where concerts and many other types of events take place. By saying if the Maloofs want a new arena they should pay for it themselves, is like basically saying you don't give a **** about your city growing and providing any entertainment value to the community. I can see it now. If the Maloofs decided to pay for and build their own arena and then either denied any other events access, or simply decided to keep every penny that comes into it, the people of this city would be up in arms. The Maloofs would be getting filthy rich. Instead of the profits that would normally go to the city (where they get misappropriated and wasted anyways), they would go directly into the Maloofs bank account.  (May 23, 2008 | post #28)

Johnson, Fargo Spar in Face-to-Face Debate

If you had better things to do and better things to watch on TV, then don't you have something better to do than to come on here and post comments bashing one of the candidates when you obviously are doing nothing to inform yourself about the situation?  (May 23, 2008 | post #19)

How to prevent burglaries? For starters, not living in Stockton would be a good choice.  (Apr 29, 2008 | post #1)

Violent Burglar Strikes Natomas Apartment Complex

Welcome to ghettomas. Moved into a brand new neighborhood in 2005 and it is turning into a slum already. Graffiti, multiple car buglaries, gang activity. I thank past and current leaders of Sacramento (especially Mayor Fargo) for their continual broken promises to build a dedicated police station for the Natomas area but instead continue to fill it with new homes which are quickly turning into hoods. As soon as housing rebounds, our house is sold and we are outta here.  (Apr 28, 2008 | post #2)

RV Dealers Battle Economy, Gas Price Woes

Listening to Why Me and is like listening to a 4 year old's opinion. I am realizing as frustrating as they are, Why Me simply does not have the education or experience to know even a little of what he or she is talking about.  (Apr 28, 2008 | post #17)

Tax Rebates Should Start Appearing in Bank Accounts Today

There is so much wrong with your way of thinking, I don't even no where to begin. You obviously don't understand a thing about hard work, only looking to those more wealthy than you for a handout. Why the hell should anyone who has worked harder or made wiser choices with their money be forced to hand money over to those who choose not to work hard or make poor financial decisions? Do you understand that America is a FREE country? That is why people from many other nations are sometimes willing to do anything to get here. So they can become entrepreneurs, work and earn money that they aren't forced to hand over to the government. Money that they can save and make financial decisions to buy things that they would otherwise never be able to obtain in their home country. You sure do put a lot of faith in your almighty Obama to save the world. You are more than willing to just give your money over to the government under his rule to give out to those less fortunate where needed. Hate to tell you but the President doesn't have absolute power. Extra taxes put upon the citizens of this country that end up in government hands usually get wasted and mismanaged. What you dream of and wish this country to be will never happen. Maybe it's time for you to move over to one of the worlds remaining communist nations. It sounds more like your cup of tea.  (Apr 28, 2008 | post #10)

Survey: High Satisfaction with Sacramento Area

Yeah, I'm totally satsfied that my house is worth $120,000 less than it was when new in 2005, totally happy that my flood insurance is quadrupling because the City can't get enough flood protection, totally happy that gangs are taking over our neighborhood park, totally happy with substandard schools, what's not to like.  (Apr 25, 2008 | post #2)
