Sir You are correct!! The speculators are causing the price of oil to go up and its tied into our foreign policy disaster. Every time something in Iran happens oil goes up, Nigeria oil up, Iraq oil up, every time Chavez says something stupid Bush takes the bait and gets mad, oil goes up. In addition, our economy has tanked because the enormous federal deficit brought on my the Iraq war disaster, so the dollar is worthless. Mr Logic in Jax I can tell you haven't read any of my posts because I haven't been blaming one man. I blame Bush for this country's current state of affairs. As well as Cheney, Rumsfeld, Condi Rice, and other Bush advisors in the foreign policy arena. I blame Bush's Republican party members for not working with their counterparts across the aisle for not getting anything done in the Congress. Doug, I would want as our president the best qualified person for the job. Not the person with the most money or the most friends. Being qualified to me includes being able to make speeches. If there is a brilliant studderer who wants to be president, well call me racist or prejudice but he or she is not qualified for the job as president. I agree with you the content of the speech is very important. Second, I appreciate all that the heroes like your twin is doing for this country. However, the longer we delay the more the Iraqis will be dependent on our soldiers. The problems are an Iraqi problem not an American problem. Those problem need to be solved by them, not by us. I also believe that we are creating more terrorists every day that we stay in Iraq. Third, how long can we sustain the troop rotations like we have been doing. How long is it before the Marines and Army is broke??? Finally, who is to say if and when we pull out of Iraq that the country won't fall into a civil war. Say for example we spend 20 years in Iraq spend God knows how many trillions of dollars and the country still goes to civil war. (Mar 28, 2008 | post #140)
