Delta, Continental to begin flights to Nigeria
Bendel, You can put lipstick on a pig but you still have a pig and therefore Lagos is still a shithole. Personally I think Mumbai is nicer than Lagos. You may be from Lagos but open you eyes next time you go there. At least the Indians are nice and easy to deal with, I can't say the same for Nigerians (Jun 5, 2008 | post #52)
What you are suggesting is re-regulation. That would stabilize the airlines and prevent them for charging less for a seat than it cost them to operate for a given seat. Personally, I am all for it. (Jun 5, 2008 | post #2)

Airlines ticket prices have been way to low in the past few years since Sept 11. Now we are starting to see the return of normal priced tickets with gas on on the rise. Remember you are still paying much less now than you would have under regulation (adjusted for inflation) (Jun 4, 2008 | post #17)

Two words. Population density. Look where most of the population in the US lives. Away from high density areas unlike Europe and Japan. Amtrak has had the Acela for quite sometime (US version of high-speed) and Amtrak has lost money for years. (Jun 4, 2008 | post #16)

All depends on the configuration of the airplane. I used to fly a similar sized aircraft that only held 59 people. Do you call that a cattle car too? Not to mention the 737 is the most popular aircraft ever built. (Jun 4, 2008 | post #16)

I never understood why UA decided to make an airline within an airline. Its was nothing more than a marketing scheme. Once again Tilton&Co will make there bounses for screwing the rank and file labor of UAL and destroying a once proud airline. Its time for the employees of all airlines to stop financing the traveling American public with these uber low fares that slowly bleed a company dry. (Jun 4, 2008 | post #15)

Surly you jest an I don;t see how I making a fool of myself. I have actually been to the crap hole known as Lagos and I made the determination for myself. Lagos is not like any other city in the world. Lagos is a 3rd world African crap hole, whereas a place like Nairobi is livable. I do have a stable place to live but I am on the road quite a bit with my job, so that's why you see all the different cities associated with my name. To put it bluntly I am a world traveler and have seen things most people have not. (Jun 4, 2008 | post #47)
NYC lawyer sues Delta over delayed, stressful trip
There was no bail out. There was money given to the carriers because the Fed Gov't forced the airlines to stop operating for several days during a state of national emergency. They paid them what the gov't felt the amount of revenue was lost for those days. Look it up for yourself. (Jun 3, 2008 | post #15)

City man: JetBlue made me sit on toilet during flight
If you could read for comprehension you would already realized I said it is prohibited to occupy the lav during t/o & ldg. But I guess you like to run amuck, shouting about things you don't comprehend. (May 15, 2008 | post #86)

City man: JetBlue made me sit on toilet during flight
Wow, so many people jumping the gun without knowing the facts. They guy should have never been on the plane in the first place. A gracious f/a gave up her seat to sit on the F/A jumpseat to allow the buddy pass rider onboard. She did not have to do that and now I bet she regrets being so nice. I don't believe for one second that the Capt told the buddy pass rider to ride in the lavatory, Which is illegal to occupy for take-off and landing anyway. How is this a racist incident? I see it as a guy trying to capitalize off the system and starting more trouble than he thinks. (May 14, 2008 | post #76)
Southwest passenger cited for cell phone chatter
Are you kidding me. Airline tickets are at an all time low. Be prepared for an increase back to where ticket prices should be. If you can't afford flying take Greyhound, drive, or just don't go. (May 13, 2008 | post #95)
