Tom Cable unlikely to return to Oakland Raiders in 2011, ...

keep in mind Adam Shefter is reporting this....... he is wrong so often i don't even listen to him anymore. that's why NFL network let him go. Al is senile, but even he can't ignore what Cable has done since taking over  (Jan 3, 2011 | post #5)

Early Offseason Possibilities for Oakland

obviously the Raiders have one game left, but w/ no postseason to play for it's def not too early to look ahead to our offseason. Going into this offseason I see a couple main weak spots that could be improved 1. OLB: I like McClain and Wimbley, but I think we still have a hole on the other side. Not a great year in the draft for LB's but possibly some free agents we could look at 2. OL: mainly on the right side of the line. Cooper Carlisle is getting kinda old and Langston Walker I'm just not too high on. Maybe Bruce Campbell will be ready to take over for Carlisle. idk where we can find an upgrade at RT, but if we can find one I'd be happy. 3. CB: Obviously we have the best in the game in Nnamdi Asomugha, and Routt has been ok but I think he's more suited to be a nickel corner. Since we don't have a 1st round pick this year Patrick Peterson and Prince Amukamara are out of the question, but Aaron Williams from Texas just declared for the draft and he looks like an early to mid 2nd rounder w/ great potential. He was one of the best lockdown man to man corners in the NCAA this year which fits what we do.  (Dec 31, 2010 | post #1)

colts at RAIDERS

I was happy to see DHB get involved in this game. I think he really is a talented kid, and he works his butt off. He's been hit or miss all year but I think he could really break out next year. w/ McFadden, Murphy, Ford, Miller, and DHB we should have a pretty potent offense next year. And defensively we should have 1 focus, resign Richard Seymour. Great season this year, and I think with a few key additions we could be Super Bowl bound next year. GO RAIDERS!!!!  (Dec 30, 2010 | post #19)

I tell ya the way to make Manning hold on to the ball is jam their receivers at the line of scrimmage. That o-line of theres isn't all that great, so when he holds the ball he gets sacked. I like our chances, if you break it down by strengths and weaknesses it looks good. We pound the ball, they struggle against the run. Their offensive strength is throwing the ball, and we're a top 5 pass D. I say 31-17 Raiders win at home  (Dec 23, 2010 | post #8)

Monte Poole: Oakland Raiders' Tommy Kelly finally living ...

glad to see him finally playing to his potential. he was one of the players coming into this year I thought we had who wasn't living up to his talent level or his contract.  (Dec 23, 2010 | post #2)

Michael Bush

yeah can somebody explain to me how we have the guy who started the wildcat back in college on our roster, yet we don't run any wildcat?  (Oct 26, 2010 | post #12)

gotta have ann Oline before we can say he isn't playing well. i think we have two amazing backs. if you give McFadden a seam he can burn you, and he was finally running hard and finishing runs before he got hurt. and bush is another Justin Fargas just a little more talented though. he's a workmanlike runner who just does anything he can to keep from going down. if they could stay healthy we have a great tandem. and if the Oline improves their numbers could def go through the roof  (Oct 22, 2010 | post #10)

Raiders snap 13-game losing streak against Chargers

hard to win when you don't have your starting QB, RB, #1 WR, best OL, and #2 DT. We gotta get healthy fast  (Oct 20, 2010 | post #12)

Raiders snap 13-game losing streak against Chargers

very good matchup game for our defense. their receivers are bad enough that we should be able to lock up in man coverage for most of the game and just stack the box against Frank Gore. offensively its all about protecting whoever is playing QB for us. Campbell showed in the second half what he can do with decent protection so we need to build on this win and avoid the letdown.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #9)

Oakland Raiders Should Cut the Cable

please no! this is the last thing we need. Cable has vastly improved this team simply by convincing Al to let Gradkowski start. we should be 2-2 if the best Kicker in the league doesn't miss a chip shot. but more important than the record, or all these stats, the players believe in Tom Cable and they play hard for him. This is the same argument i have here in Jacksonville w/ people about Del Rio. I don't care how good of a coach you are, you have to have talent to win. i say we let him finish the year if we aren't at least 6-10 or better than we let him go, but if we can get some wins this year then let him continue to build this team. Under Cable we've gone from being destoryed by the great teams and barely beating the bad ones to competing with everyone. I say give him 2 years w/o J Bust and see what he can build  (Oct 7, 2010 | post #14)

Oakland Raiders, the Silver & Black, a Piece Away from Be...

well Huff is a pretty good cover guy, he just needs to hit the sleds or move to corner. Routt could def be upgraded, and my only thing w/ Tommy Kelly is he's very inconsistent. One play he looks great and the next he's gettin blown off the ball. He's definitely not worth his salary. Honestly I think its time to throw Bruce Campbell in for Cooper Carlisle. I really think he is the future at Guard for us, might as well put him in while our OL can't get any worse. ok it could be worse, we could still have Kwame Harris at LT. On a positive note, I do like how well the offense has moved despite the poor play from the Offensive Line. Plus our pass defense is the 3rd ranked in the NFL, and we have the 6th highest Rushing yds per game. so its not all bad. Now if we could get more than 32,000 to show up to the games we'd be ok.  (Oct 7, 2010 | post #5)

Oakland Raiders, the Silver & Black, a Piece Away from Be...

really??? We are more than 1 piece away, and what does Bruce Gradkowski have to do to be considered a starting QB? Anyway, I dont care who is under center if we don't get the Offensive Line squared away we will be held back. Jake Grove and Justin Hartwig are accomplished Centers who are still available, and our offensive tackles are awful. then on defense we need another starting DT and OLB and CB. Tommy Kelly blows and we keep tryin to plug in defensive ends at Outside Linebacker.  (Oct 7, 2010 | post #1)

How to salvage the Oakland Raiders Season

well as long as Al Davis runs the raiders the passing game is gonna be a vertical one. its just the way he likes the offense to be, but i do see the point of fixing the o-line before we judge the receivers too harshly, but Antonio Bryant def wouldn't hurt is all I'm saying  (Sep 15, 2010 | post #4)
