Lawmakers eye divvying up oil, gas windfall
Invest the money into something that will return dividends, or pump it into small business' who will hire workers. Whatever you do don't spend a nickle of it piszing it away handing back small amts. to the tax payers. That's insane, and it does nothing. (Friday Jul 11 | post #34)

Special session in September, expands agenda
Hey Bill, that's a great Democrat agenda there. Give 'em something for nothing. Except that's a fantasy. Hey you don't have a job, Bill will give you more welfare money, hey are you one of the 47K that don'r have health insurance, no problem, we'll give it to you free. Don't have enough food, stop worrying, it's Bill to the rescue with more food stamps. Of course it's just a bunch of whiners that want something for nothing, but hey the working tax payers can foot the bill, get it? Foot the BILL (Friday Jul 11 | post #1)

Video: Watch a suspected killer's perp walk
47.9% of all murders in the USA are committed by black males, in NM there were 6.8 murders/100,000 people in 2006. In 2003 the state with the highest murder rate was Louisiana @ 13/100,000. The safest state, Maine was at 1.2/100,000 in 2003. Louisiana supports the death penalty, but neither NM nor Maine do. I agree that spending tax payer money on an individual like this is contrary to the common wealth, but I find no evidence that capital punishment deters murder, it is more economical though. Portales man arrested in fatal stabbing
Seems like a good idea to set an example in a case like this. If Portales isn't going to allow middle aged vermin to stab seniors to death in their own homes are they? (Tuesday Jul 8 | post #3)

New vision for uptown may bring streetcars
Why this might work. If it's a business deal supported by business men and women in a for profit venture, it could fly. Unlike moronic Marty the Mayor ideas that require more tax dollars and are pointed at downtown where his realestate investments are. None of us know how transportation will look 20 years from now. People will certainly be moving as close as possible to where they shop and work. (Tuesday Jul 8 | post #17)

Hubbard considers moving track from Ruidoso Downs
The Indian Casinos are siphoning off some of the money people used to bet on the horses with. I doubt seriously the track is losing money, just not making as much as before. Other race tracks have complained of this same phenomenon. (Saturday Jul 5 | post #4)

So now Obama wants slavery back.
It's interesting to see the little strategies Obama is attempting now. He has offerred little in the way of sound strategy and flipped on many issues. Clearly he's green and inexperienced, grabbing at things that might help him out. He still sounds good, he'll always be good at giving speeches, he's polished. (Saturday Jul 5 | post #11)

Hubbard considers moving track from Ruidoso Downs
You can bet there's much more to this story. The race track has been there for many years, and I've never heard anything about it losing money. The track was originally placed there because it's cool in the summer due to altitude, which it would not be in Las Cruces. We'll hear that Hubbard received some kind of incentive here before too long. (Saturday Jul 5 | post #1)
