Fiat can still buy St.louis plants

Who gave up pensions? Taking the buyout did not mean giving up your pension. Buyout people will still get a pension when they are eligible to retire.  (Monday Nov 23 | post #135)

The Daily Drivers: Is the Dodge Avenger a car lost in transition?

Yeah, I don't pay any attention to what the naysayers have to say anyway. They obviously have never driven a Sebring or Avenger or they work for CONsumer reports. The seats in my Sebring are leather. I've never seen leather Tupperware. LOL  (Sunday Nov 22 | post #11)

The Daily Drivers: Is the Dodge Avenger a car lost in transition?

ShapGirl, I just wanted to add a thank you for a wonderful job on my Sebring Limited. I bought it in September 2007 and it has been a great car. It has the MyGIG with nav and every possible option except for the moonroof, which I did not want. With all the gadgets I call it my playground on wheels. It is an Inferno Red Crystal Pearlcoat with just the right amount of chrome trim and is a really beautiful car. You may have even roll tested it for me. . Anyone who reads the import rag Consumer Reports would be amazed that this car lasted this long.  (Sunday Nov 22 | post #3)

Who do you think Chrysler woud come more to srvive with?

Well, at least you found the period key. However, "grammer " is spelled g-r-a-m-m-a-r.  (Saturday Nov 21 | post #19)

Chrysler Fento Plant

I know who you mean. If it's really important that you get ahold of him I'll try and make a few phone calls and see if I can track him or his dad down. . Click on my name and drop me a PM with your contact info (email or whatever) and I'll see what I can do.  (Nov 18, 2009 | post #8)

Who do you think Chrysler woud come more to srvive with?

Wow. With all that schooling I sure hope at least one of the classes he takes is in English composition. That was a single 12-line sentence, full of spelling and grammar errors.  (Nov 18, 2009 | post #10)

I was an electrician there and I know two other ones with the first name of Mike. . Mike R. Mike T. . Did his dad also work there as an electrician? Do you know if he lived in Jefferson County (Festus)? from the tall comment it sounds like you're describing Mike R., whose dad was a 110 electrician and retired. . Actually, I don't know what happened to either one of them. I took the buyout almost a year ago and I haven't kept in touch with most former co-workers there since then. I could probably make a few phone calls and track him down.  (Nov 18, 2009 | post #6)

How has the bankruptsy affected you ?

Hopefully, you took your snow shovel with you. :) . Anyway, the Chrysler bankruptcy hasn't affected me. I'd already taken the buyout and obtained a different job last year. . What will affect me is if Chrysler goes under and the government ends up funding my pension for a reduced amount than what I would have received directly from Chrysler. If that happens I may have to work a few more years than my current goal of early retirement in 9 years.  (Nov 17, 2009 | post #6)

moving to Sterling

Reminds me of the service award list I read in my company's paper last fall. I always turn to the back and see how many old farts are just hanging on for whatever reason instead of retiring and enjoying life. . Anyway, there was one who had just received his 65 year service award. SIXTY-FIVE YEARS! Remember, he wasn't retiring, he was just being mentioned for having been with the company for 65 years and still working. Sheesh! . I think I could find better ways to spend my golden years. I suppose his grandkids will enjoy all the money he'll leave them and doesn't have time to spend.  (Nov 6, 2009 | post #5)

Thanks for the laugh and the obvious sarcasm. you almost had me there for a minute. .
