Suspect arrested in assault on BP clerk

Very true. I agree that he needs to take responsibility for his crimes, but I feel as individuals, we need to not be so hateful towards others. People shouting "Hang Him!" and things like that are not too different from those who cried "Stone Him" in biblical times. None of us are innocent...  (Aug 17, 2007 | post #166)

Suspect arrested in assault on BP clerk

You're right. The phrase "eye for an eye" did originate with the Bible. It's in Exodus. However, when Jesus hung on that cross, he changed all the rules! Here is an awesome passage about loving our neighbors from Luke 6: 27"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. 30Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. 31Do to others as you would have them do to you. 32"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. 33And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. 34And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. 35But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. It's not easy to love and forgive those who do awful things, but that is exactly what God wants us to do. Yes, this is an awful crime, but hatred for this man will not do anything for us in the light of eternity. It will only sour our souls.  (Aug 16, 2007 | post #51)

Truck kills Illinois man leaving Ozzfest

This is so sad, but let's all learn something from this: don't walk home from Verizon! The roads are packed, and half the people leaving there are drunk, high or both. Let's enjoy concerts safely people!  (Aug 15, 2007 | post #52)

Muncie tax protester pays up with $1 bills

Have you ever tried to count $12,000 in one dollar bills? I haven't...the most I ever had to count was $1000, and it took me forever! I can't imagine what a pain in the butt this was for the poor staffers in that office to have to go through and count $12,000 in ones. What did these staffers do to deserve that kind of treatment? Maybe it's time to find a better way to protest taxes...  (Aug 14, 2007 | post #127)

Steak n shake may trim hours

The sad thing is that it really doesn't take that long at all to make a Steak n Shake milkshake. The fountain operators tend to dink around and not keep up with their work. BOO!  (Aug 10, 2007 | post #78)

Steak n shake may trim hours

OUCH! Stop 11 used to be the best SNS in town - big floor plan, fast service, etc. Now it's small and S-L-O-W...so sad.  (Aug 10, 2007 | post #77)

Fishers beating victim considers lawsuits

If he just went insane all-of-a-sudden, how do you explain his posession of a DHL uniform? Come on...this was thought out and then exicuted. I'm just glad this girl didn't get hurt more than she did. I'm not sure she should be suing her landlords though. Yes, the door should have been locked, but no one forced her to open her apartment door to a stranger.  (Aug 10, 2007 | post #13)

Woman accused of trying to sell son

Here is what bugs me most about this story: My hubby and I have been trying to get pregnant for almost 2 years with no luck, and here these idiots are selling their child. What's fair about that?  (Aug 10, 2007 | post #5)

Indy eyed by company for remote casino

In his defense, he didn't mention the Bible once. And he's just sharing his opinion on here, like everyone else.  (Aug 9, 2007 | post #42)
