President Obama's Immigration Shift Could Bolster Latino ...

Even as someone like myself with a mere associates degree, I'm able to find employment without issue. People need to come to the terms with the fact that underemployed is better than unemployed. Sitting on your high and mighty ass waiting for some union factory job with benefits that will probably never be negotiated so favorably again is not a matter of pride, it's just lazy.  (Jun 18, 2012 | post #97)

President Obama's Immigration Shift Could Bolster Latino ...

I like and dislike the action taken at the same time. I feel that undoubtedly those coming to work who are illegally here or undocumented (depending on what phrase you are most comfortable with) deserve to be able to work without the fear of the deportation or other legal action. At the same time this is a shit policy to those that have to jump through all the other hoops, and have waited in the proverbial line for citizenship. Outside of that it's a matter of the threshold at which United States citizens will tolerate the ineveitable cartel violence that I feel will spike because of this due to an ease of entry. So far it's mostly border patrol agents and citizens of border towns that have been affected. Should such violence/kidnappings/etc spread widely throughout the South I can foresee a back lash for sure.  (Jun 18, 2012 | post #93)
