I was very disappointed where they qualified and that they were so bad to start the race, but No excuses here also! Like Justin said: If you kept up with his progress on the track Sunday you would know they finally got the car better! Late in the race he was picking off several cars on the lead lap, but because he was a lap down he could only gain up to the lucky dog position and held that for a long time and only lost it when lead lap cars were pitting under green and were going a lap down. Unlike some teams they just didn't get the lucky break of a timely caution while they were in that position! Hopefully they will figure out what they need to do soon so ES can get some good finishes? OH yes, one more thing...it's not that much of an accomplishment since he has only finished 24th in both races, but ES has finished ahead of Kasey Kahne and AJ both times this year!  (Feb 23, 2010 | post #22)

Second race on the 2010 Schedule and the first of the tracks that should provide a real test as to whether the 19 Team is making any improvement over how they have run these past 3 seasons?  (Feb 18, 2010 | post #1)

2010 Daytona Truck 250 and 500

I heard ES Tuesday on his weekly Interview on Sirius Nascar Radio and he told Dave Moody that his car was one of the most consistent through the first 2/3s of the race and then after the car had hit the pot hole a couple of time the handling went away and it all of a sudden started bottoming out on the front right part of the splitter. They could not figure out what was wrong and nothing they did fixed it. After they took the car back to the shop they found out that the Bump-stop on that side broke and had the car dragging! He said he could not be sure if the Pot-hole caused it or whether something else did it? So anything they either did or did not do not the changing track conditions had anything to go with where they finished! I agree, Its on to some tracks that will give us a better gauge on how they might do this season. All I know is they have built new cars for the next to track and hopefully we will see some improvement over how he has run there in the last 3 years?  (Feb 18, 2010 | post #13)

So it was not the usal good finish in the 500 that Es is known for. Hopefully the 19 team can rebound and ES can post a good finish in California?  (Feb 16, 2010 | post #10)

I listened to ES during the race, but even though they could not get the car adjusted all the way to his liking, he was still able to drive it to the front and stay in contact with or race with the leaders! It was the long pothole delays and the unexpected big transition from a hot slick track to a cool grippy track that did in the teams efforts! Some cars were not good enough to stay up front during the day, but their cars got better as it unexpectedly cooled down and most who had good set-ups for the daytime track conditions faded! I call that more of a result of luck in many cases? Jamie McMurray said himself in some interviews Monday that he did not have a winning car during the day, but as soon as it got dark and the track cooled down his car got better and better! I am sure all the teams that had top 5 or 10 finishs planed on the race taking over 6 hours instead of the usual 3-4 hours.  (Feb 16, 2010 | post #9)

Since ES always does well in the Daytona 500, I wanted to say that the 3 races after the 500, Fontana, Las Vegas and Atlanta, will be the real early season test as to whether the 19 team has made improvement in giving him the cars that he needs to be competitive again? Then we will the answer to the question many have had here as to whether he can still drive like he did in 2004 and 2005?  (Feb 6, 2010 | post #5)

2 points. 1- I believe that some of us are being a bit over-sensitive to how he ran in just 2 laps in a rain shortened practice the first time he had this Brand New Car on the track? Being a fan for many years, I know that you can build 2 cars exact alike and both will drive differently! So you don't know how a car will drive or run until you have it on the very track you are racing it on! Testing could have helped, but since there isn't any that all they have to go on? His team did not get any chance to try some changes and improve on that since the second Practice was canceled! Today should tell if he has something for them or has some work to do? 2- Unlike last year, ES and his teammates don't have to hold back going for the win or the best position just to make sure AJ makes the field! So ES could show something this coming Thursday no matter where he ends up after Qualifying today?  (Feb 6, 2010 | post #4)

RPM alliance with Roush Fenway Racing, Sadler crew chief ...

Now this offseason has not afforded him much of a chance to get in the shop or on the track as they were in the process of building the New cars and then are moving over to the Yates show! He has talked with the Roush drivers and attended Meetings in between enjoying the off season. The only ones to drive Ford cars this off season were Kahne in a Dec tire test at Auto Club Speedway in a car supplied by Roush, Biffle in a test at Texas with the new spoiler and Edwards in a tire test at Atlanta. AJ had this importunity in the Rolex 24 because Like Perkins said, he has driven it before! So where has ES had an importunity to even get in a car when they are still getting them ready for the season???  (Feb 3, 2010 | post #10)

No excuses this year, If Es gets the cars he is expecting and still doesn't improve, then he will not have a quality ride next season...if not not before the end of the this season?  (Feb 3, 2010 | post #9)
