Religious freedom bill riles gay rights supporters

I doubt there would be wholesale discrimination against people. If I wanted to buy something and was discriminated against because I was a veteran, I would just go somewhere else and spend my money. I would think that in 2014 most businesses that utilized the law would: A. be few and far between B. be out of business very, very soon.  (Feb 22, 2014 | post #80)

Robert B. Rheault, 87, officer in Vietnam scandal, dies

You're an idiot. You totally missed the point. The question is, can we fight wars and win them. The answer is absolutely. The reality is that we don't because we don't want to offend the ENEMY. Wars are won through superior firepower and violence of action. A $15 IED can be mitigated. Political shenanigans cannot be mitigated  (Nov 24, 2013 | post #23)

Robert B. Rheault, 87, officer in Vietnam scandal, dies

You do realize that we were about 3-4 months away from a NV unconditional surrender, when we left Vietnam? You aren't a student of history, much less of Military History nor do you have any common sense when it comes to war fighting. To your point, we also sent a 1/2 million troops to Kuwait, and won the ground war in 100 hours. We do know how to do it. We just don't. Why? We might offend. You know that the US is the only country in NATO that doesn't drink in the Middle East? We don't want to offend. And the point is not drinking. It's winning  (Oct 30, 2013 | post #18)

We look weak to the world because we don't fight to win. We don't use overwhelming force or violence of action any more because we might offend the enemy  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #15)

Cheney: Republicans need to look to new generation

He's absolutely right. Both parties need fresh blood. If you have to be carried into either chamber of Congress, it's probably time to call it quits. If you've been in the Congress more than 15 years, you've outlived your usefulness. Its a power consolidation matrix that is in never ending campaign mode. I would much rather have legislators vote their conscience and let the chips fall where they may, than be used by them every three to four months as a pawn in a political game. As an example, now 10 Democrat Senators want Obamacare delayed. Sure they united to make the GOP look silly, but who looks silly now?  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #28)

Obama to address health care glitches

Not hearing how much the deductibles are. They are astronomic. My company has changed their insurance offerings to comply with the ACA. Sure their cheapest plan costs about $160/month, but the deductible for a family has gone from $3k per year to $12K...  (Oct 21, 2013 | post #22)

Senate Dems to try passing debt ceiling increase

The debt ceiling debate and default arent even in the same realm. If we fail to raise the debt ceiling on 17 Oct, servicing the debt continues. We still bring in $2.2 Trillion a year in tax revenue, tarrifa and fees. More than enough to service the debt, pay Social Security, Medicare Medicaid, keep the parks open, keep the government running at 100%. What it means is that new spending is curtailed. Not a bad thing  (Oct 9, 2013 | post #20)

Boehner Attacks Senate 'Arrogance' as Deadline Approaches

And here's the other thing: There's a difference between healthcare coverage and point of service healthcare. Just because Obama & Co believe (wrongly) that you have a right to coverage doesn't mean you are going to have a right to the quality healthcare EVERYONE has access to right now either through private insurance, a government program, or just showing up to an ER if you don't have coverage. You get quality care. Doctors do not have to take insurance packages sold through Obamacare exchanges. and many of them won't.  (Sep 30, 2013 | post #104)

Video: Government by deadline: Why can't Congress just do...

You're an idiot. Slavery was the law of the land- until we fought a war over it. Certain segments of society were not eligible to vote- until SCOTUS reversed themselves. Internment camps during WWII were the law of the land- unitl SCOTUS reversed themselves. Segregation was the law of the land- again, until SCOTUS reversed their opinion. DOMA was the law of the land.... You see where I'm going with this... Saying that Obamacare is the law of the land and no negotiation will be conducted is ignorance patty  (Sep 30, 2013 | post #52)
