Lebanon whats the problem ??????

Why is it that all we seem to get in this town are banks and hotels .Im sure they create jobs but they are low wage jobs we need medium- high income jobs that are going to be around longer than 10-15 years .I am wondering is it the location the people or the town officals themselves to blame for the lack of medium-high wage jobs in this community .I am astonished that no company would want to move into this region due to the low cost of living and operation .Im sure people in this region are fed up with low wage jobs and being forced into welfare /foodstamp programs. We need other places to work/play and im all for raising taxes or whatever they need to do to keep a business or recreational area here in this areabut dont raise taxes then pull the rug out from under us if the business leaves lower the taxes back down until another business is established .I have already been hearing that CGI is looking elsewhere when their contract expires .The taxes got raised when lear ,reynolds ,cgi came to town. When the 2 fell through my taxes either raised or stayed the same. I just want to see people in the future have something instead of a town that has nothing yet paying the same in taxes as town such as bristol or johnson city .I love this area and think that it can be saved for future generations, but if it continues down this path its going to be a ghost town. I have lived here for 35 years and ive seen this town grow but i am now witnessing the decline of this town due to political mishaps .Dont rely on places to come here when u know that they are temporary we need long term job growth in this area and im up for suggetions?  (Dec 11, 2012 | post #1)
