Gathering Place: Smoking proponents

Well then, there you go. If you don't like smoking or SHS, stay out of establishments that allow it and stay away from people who do it, but don't infringe on other's rights.  (32 min ago | post #50)

Gathering Place: Smoking proponents

In our current liberal society, it may be legal but it's unAmerican. OSHA is another corrupt government entity which is beholden more to the special interest groups than they are to the American people. You can spin all you want, the smoking bans are not legal, it's an invasion against an individual's right to run their business as they see fit. OSHA's another lame organization that needs to get shot down.  (34 min ago | post #49)

Lingle questions trip to Florida for educators

Herbert, I'm glad to see you're still going to write that book. The people of Hawai'i need to know how the shysters at the DOE are ripping us off and how it affects our children attending public school.  (54 min ago | post #158)

Lingle questions trip to Florida for educators

Hi "thom1s" , yes I remember you telling me once that the DOE doesn't have a curriculum, which is why I had to laugh when Ms. Ikeda stated in the article that the seminar was to better the teacher's curriculum. These people really think we're all stupid. And you're right, I don't think it's the children who are the "lowest in the Nation", it's our rotten, dirty DOE and the garbage that goes with it.  (58 min ago | post #156)

Obama starts isle vacation tomorrow

I hear you, "alarmclock ". The job as President and the problems we have will be too much for any one man to handle. Congress is going to have to start taking their duties more seriously if they want to solve our problems. Obama has been a U.S. Senator for the last three years and has done little to nothing in even trying to fix our problems, even with a majority Democratic Congress since 2006. Add that with his political background in his socialist and marxist beliefs, I still feel he is not qualified to be President. But on the other hand, as you stated, the Republicans have been in power and even had a majority in the Congress, with a Republican President, and they STILL couldn't do what was expected of them. The neo-conservatives, who have hijacked the GOP, have made a mess of our Nation and our Party. Which is why I also believe that maybe an Obama win is necessary in order for the GOP to pause and reflect and see where they've strayed in the last 8 years (Longer if you consider the GOP had a majority in the Congress since 1994). Either way, with McCain or Obama in the White House, our problems are far from over.  (1 hr ago | post #162)

Obama starts isle vacation tomorrow

Please, someone else had already sent me that attachment a few months back. Anytime AIM makes criticisms against the Left, they are deemed as being "biased and conservative" . I'm sure you must have googled "AIM" after reading my post, but "Accuracy in Media" does their own investigating, and they've exposed a lot of dirt on the GOP as well, not just the Democrats. So the only one who is easily fooled here, is you my friend. Quoting the New York Times and the Washington Post, the two hotbeds of liberalism, on their criticisms of AIM, is laughable. The mainstream media are also liberally biased, so their comments on AIM doesn't wash. Your liberalism is blinding you, my friend. Time to take that red pill now.  (2 hrs ago | post #161)

Hawaii voters welcome a session with Obama

Actually, "willie" , as much as I don't support Obama, I have to point out that you're mistaken. Obama does have a legitimate birth certificate. He was born in Honolulu, Hawai'i in 1961. He is legit.  (2 hrs ago | post #19)

Hawaii voters welcome a session with Obama

News flash-- "antique old lady", Bush did serve in the Texas Air National Guard. However, he served with a group that was dubbed "the champagne unit" because it was filled with rich boys looking to evade service in VietNam, and his service was less than "stellar ". Your are correct on Cheney. He took five deferments to avoid serving in the military because he, as he had put it, "had more important things to do"... Scumbag. And as much as I am grateful for McCain serving our Nation, being in the military isn't a qualification for being President. We've had a few Presidents who were not in the military. John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Grover Cleveland, William H. Taft, Woodrow Wilson, Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, Franklin Roosevelt and Bill Clinton. But I don't count Clinton since he was a draft-dodger who spent his time in the UK, burning our flag and talking smack against our Nation.  (2 hrs ago | post #18)

freddy3", I'd like to know where you got your facts from. Not that I doubt you but I'd like to see them for myself. If it is true what you stated here, McCain is just as much a dirtbag as Bush and the other neo-con clowns. I appreciate the heads up.  (2 hrs ago | post #17)

Obama to hold rally at Keehi Lagoon park

Egads, open your eyes and stop following the rest of the sheep, "Wahine Luahine". Have you bothered to read ANY of the attachments that I and others had posted about Obama? I doubt you did. Keep your eyes wide shut if you must, but the only one who needs to get a clue here is you, sister. CHANGE is coming, indeed. Just not the kind of change you're expecting.  (2 hrs ago | post #67)

Obama to hold rally at Keehi Lagoon park

Go back and read what I had written before. I don't support McCain either. A win for McCain or Obama is a loss for the USA. McCain is just as "loose" about securing borders and not granting amnesty to illegals as Obama is. Despite what he says about cutting government and spending, he hasn't done much in his 20+ years time as a U.S. Senator. McCain has also neglected to seriously talk to the American people and discuss why our economy is on the rocks and why the dollar is weakening by the day. Just like Obama, McCain is another bureaucrat who dodges the real questions, with "lite" answers. Ron Paul or Alan Keyes would had been a better choice for the GOP, but the neo-cons saw to it that that wasn't going to happen. So who will I vote for? Tough answer. I may just "throw" my vote to Ron Paul anyway, even if he isn't running anymore, even if I have to write his name in and even if it invalidates my vote. Either way, I won't throw my support to McCain or Obama. I'm keeping my conscience clean.  (3 hrs ago | post #66)

Obama to hold rally at Keehi Lagoon park

Yeah, problem is that no one in Hawai'i will bother to ask him about his past and his affiliations with these dunces. Just like with the media in the mainland and in Europe, the local media are going to fall over themselves, getting caught up in the Obama hype. The Star-BULLetin, Advertiser, KHNL, KHON, KITV and KGMB will be gushing with adoration and fall FAR short on actually doing their jobs and asking the tough questions in order to give the people of Hawai'i the opportunity to make an informed decision. The biased media, just like the corrupt Democratic Party of Hawai'i are more concerned about getting their "rock star" elected in to office instead of looking at the truth.  (5 hrs ago | post #42)
