‘Adventurous’ Woman Needed as Surrogate for Neanderthal Baby

Link to article http://bit.ly/W7dl VW I’m concerned about the ethics of this. What justification is there to bring a single, sentient humanoid into the world where he or she will never find other Neanderthals to breed or communicate with (obviously Neanderthals were also highly social primates). Alongside this, the genetic drive to breed could never be accomplished and it’s not as if the individual would have any chance of normal friendships with humans with the stigma that will surround their very existence. Who actually that this is anything other than deplorable? I would like to know more about the scientific justification for this, because I can see the massive moral debates and legal and ethical issues this will cause will vastly outweigh any benefits to evolutionary biology…  (Apr 23, 2013 | post #1)

The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Be...

http://bit.ly/110r 7uL Unknown numbers of scientists, but many, are devout believers. Countless religious people are scientists, including notably Francis Collins. (Countless people don't fall into either camp, of course.) The so-called dispute between religion and science is bogus because the two realms don't intersect, despite Collins' fascinating and rather persuasive evidence and all of the verbiage given to "intelligent design". In its pure form (here we need to ignore institutional politics, professional disputes, cliquish behavior, and fraud) science is not a matter of "belief" but of logic. Religious faith is not a matter of logic but of pure belief in phenomena that cannot be proven or falsified. Although one may inform the other, the two do not conflict.  (Apr 23, 2013 | post #1)
