Birth Control

Ocella--generic for Yasmin

You may have heard of the controversy swirling around Yaz birth control in the news recently. Several patients have claimed that this prescription medication caused dangerous, potentially life-threatening conditions in its patients. Some girls as young as their teens even reported blood clots, and numerous links have been suggested between Yaz and other serious side effects, like hypertension, uterine bleeding, and even potentially deadly effects like heart attacks or strokes. Many patients are looking for a lawyer, sensing that they may able to receive compensation for the negative health effects due to Yaz. In light of all of the controversy surrounding Yaz, the question is raised- is hormonal birth control a safe option? Should women be concerned about other hormonal birth control prescriptions? http://clearinjury .com/yaz-birth-con trol/  (Dec 11, 2014 | post #686)

Skin Cancer

Melanoma Skin Cancer Could Be Caused By Viagra

Men who use Viagra to get a boost in the bedroom could find that the little blue pill also increases the risk of developing melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, a preliminary study finds. Researchers found that men who took sildenafil, best known as Viagra, were about 84 percent more likely to develop melanoma than men who didnít take the drug. Because itís just one early study, no one is suggesting that men stop taking Viagra to treat erectile dysfunction, said Dr. Abrar Qureshi, professor and chair of the dermatology department in the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. Xarelto Be careful of bleeding risk !

For the first 8 months of 2013, 968 side-effect reports were filed with Germany's drug regulators, including 72 deaths. During all of last year, the agency received 750 reports of adverse reactions, including 58 deaths, Der Spiegel says. The reports are voluntary, filed by doctors and patients, and don't prove that Xarelto was the cause. A Bayer spokesman told Reuters that Xarelto's benefits still outweigh its risks. https://www.facebo uit  (Sep 25, 2014 | post #1)
