Okay so that's true to your group that you were hired in but other groups did reach full wage after 18 months. Not referring to your group Clueless  (Sep 22, 2012 | post #20)

$2 is a lot when you're making 16.66/hr. I mean my God people are you seriously going to question the small raise? Imagine working without knowing if you'll ever make fill wage. When you T1's came in you made full wage after 18 months, I mean seriously dude. Reading selfish comments like about makes me see how you guys help ran this ship down. Attendance and everything. The company got fed up and two tiers are getting fed up. Besides you voted for this ish... Live with it. Some of the posts I read from RETARD and a few other selfish a$$ T1's almost make wish we'll go under just to see you non educated fools beg for money. I on the other hand have a degree I'll fare fine lmao!!! A holes. See there I had to just communicate on your level  (Sep 21, 2012 | post #12)

Don't believe the political spin that the papers are saying that UAW got a better deal in the long haul... Well on second thought 1st tier's probably did, but I was on the conference call and this was a huge victory for those that oppose the two tier wage structure. Under the UAW's two tier wage structure some two tier will NEVER reach full wage... But what is really outstanding is that the CAW stood by their core principals and would not compromise them. Dude there is no two tier! They come in at 60% of the wage and reach full wage after 10 years... So basically in two years new hires would make more than the max for UAW two tiers!!! Cola has been replaced with a $2,000/yr in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years of the contract. Also, who needs a profit sharing when you're being paid a fair wage of $34/hr and the Canadian dollar is worth more at this point. Imaging coming in to work making skilled trades pay but doing non skilled work.  (Sep 18, 2012 | post #18)

CAW / Canada Auto Talks

Just got off CAW/Ford live press conference and new hires will reach full wage after 10 years. They will keep defined pension benefits with higher contributions. They will keep COLA by getting 2K in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of the contract. 3K signing bonus. Wow! Good job in solidarity Canada.  (Sep 17, 2012 | post #8)

Couldn't have said it better... This is exactly what is going on. Sergio was correct that a two tier wage system doesn't have long term sustainability. That reality may come sooner than later. I can as a two tier applaud the fact of the union wanting to stand by their core beliefs. Says alot about the union!!!  (Sep 17, 2012 | post #7)
