Greece continues to support Serbia on EU, Kosovo

I agree that their fears are the reason but if you ask them, they'll tell you the same story Greece says. "We believe in International Law".  (Apr 29, 2013 | post #93)

Greece continues to support Serbia on EU, Kosovo

Once again I'll say that it's not a matter of love or hatred. e.g. during the 20th century, especially the first decades, Bulgaria was our greatest enemy (worse than Turkey), today Bulgaria is one of Greece's best partners. If states behaved like common people, we would never forget our bloody past just like we don't forget such things in personal level.  (Apr 29, 2013 | post #92)

that's called cynism, not hypocrisy.  (Apr 29, 2013 | post #90)

Don't you understand? No one "blames" the West for lack of sensitivity. It is not bad being rational instead of sensitive. One can turn a blind eye to International Law, depending on their interest. So given the fact that Serbia is a good ally and given the turkish claims over greek territories, we condemn unilateral independence which is against International Law. This is the way all states think.  (Apr 29, 2013 | post #89)

Yes I am sarcastic to romantism, because it is away from reality.  (Apr 28, 2013 | post #85)

Why do the Greeks look like Turks?

The greek parts of wester Asia Minor (from the Aegean coast to Cappadocia and Pontus in the north) are inhabited by mediterranean looking populations, descendants of ethnic greek populations living there before the Turks showed up. The eastern and southeastern parts of Asia Minor (from Cylicia to the modern Armenian state)are inhabited by populations with middle eastern features such as darker skin, eyes and hair. These people are descendands of Armenians and other middle eastern ethnicities. The Turks who first settled there during the 11th century AD were nothing more than a small military minority who forced the autochthonous people to convert into islam. They were not numerous enough to change the genetics map of the area. So when one says that Turks look like Greeks, he actually means "Turks of western and northern Turkey look like Greeks", which is normal, since they have Greek DNA.  (Apr 28, 2013 | post #27)

Greece continues to support Serbia on EU, Kosovo

Greece supported Serbia during the '90s because Serbia was being portrayed as evil while on the other hand, crimes against ethnic serbs were always hidden. -European "humanism ": what you told us is that Europeans are humanist under conditions. They treat you according to these values ONLY if you come from the european continent. Otherwise you don't deserve it. Wow!!! I'm deeply touched by such moral greatness!!!  (Apr 28, 2013 | post #83)

So you think that some nations are supperios to others... This is deeply racist approach. Then why do you complain when you become subject to racism?  (Apr 27, 2013 | post #77)

Hostility between Gr and Alb has been caused by incompatibilities of interests, not by hatred. You admitted that we'd had no problem until politics decided us. -Western civilisation does believe in human values BUT when it comes to international relations, what the western countries use is nothing else than RATIONALISM. Never ethics and moral values. I could give you many examples of lack of this kind of western sensibility. As for Greece being "a special type of western country." please define it better.  (Apr 27, 2013 | post #76)

GAME OVER for Fake "Greex" and "Grease"...

Fyrom's albanians say they don't want to take their half of Monkeydonia and unite with Albania. They'll be patient until they become majority (which is going to happen pretty soon) and take control over the whole territory which will be called eastern Albania. What we as Greece must do is just wait and never agree on any solution for the name issue. TIME IS AGAINST THEM.  (Apr 25, 2013 | post #140)

Clashes in Armenian protest in Thessaloniki

As i said in a previous post ignorance is better than half knowledge. Don't confuse the ethnic cleansing and genocide. -Ethnic cleansing has been performed in almost all countries in the past. All balkan countries have tried to create ethnically pure societies by expelling minorities to their neighboring motherlands and accepting their people from those countries. It was the wisest solution for balkanic violence. -Genocide has been a rare phenomenon, incomparably more brutal. It is the systematic mass murder of an ethnic or religious group. Ataturk commited genocide with up to THREE MILLION BUTCHERED CIVILIANS (1,5 mln Armenians, 750 000 Greeks, 750 000 Assyrians) Now who is the criminal???  (Apr 25, 2013 | post #6)
