Charter Rap Commercial

Does anyone know the name of the beatbox performer in the newest ad? I believe I have seen in other ads.  (Jun 30, 2016 | post #19)

Charter Rap Commercial

When the commercial comes on, I do what advertisers don't want us to do. I turn off the television. I an not sure which commercial is in question here but I am grossed out by a guy who ignored his wife in bed and fools around with someone ont he phone while decked out is his daughter's bed.  (Jun 30, 2016 | post #18)

Entomology

Mosquito traps using Bti: Fact or fantasy?

I hear gardeners and talk shows touting the benefits and incredible success of using Bacillus thuringiensis serotype israelensis (Bti) but I seriously doubt its efficacy in real life. Granted it kills the nymph when it hatches but I contend that there are several flies in that ointment. 1) A few species of mosquitoes do exist within 300' of their "home" and the traps work on them but there are so many more mosquitoes that travel a mile, many more than a few miles and a few that travel 7 miles. 2) Mosquitoes are attracted to your area by the water in the trap. 3) The mosquito seeks blood before it lays its eggs so they are going to bite you anyway. I contend that, if these are true, then a mosquito trap is as effective as Japanese beetle traps who only serve to attract more to your area and as as much a false sense of security. Before I start my campaign, I would like to know if some experts might concur or am I on the wrong track here.  (Jun 14, 2016 | post #1)

Urology

Painful testicles

My pain is there with any kind of contact. Clothing, shower water, simple touch. The pain is at the top of each one. I can't walk sometimes and jogging is definitely out. Is that similar to yours? The bad news is that I have been poked, prodded, squeezed, ultrasounded, drugged, steroided, ointmented, you name it. I have been to many doctors/ Urologists but each only take it as far as they have knowledge and give up on any exploratory beyond that. They only want the cases that they can easily cure. All they seem to want is the payment for another office visit. You don't mention age but I have lived with it for 20 years now. I am not sure if it is age or the pain that kills of any thought of having sex. No answer here but, If nothing else, maybe now you are not alone.  (Apr 17, 2016 | post #2)

Urology

Phy process

I have chronic testicular pain and have run into the same problem. Been to at least 5 urologists and each came up with a different diagnosis and gave me a treatment. All attempts failed yet, as you said, they were not interested in trying anything else nor would ask around. It reminded me of my mother's favorite saying: "The patient should strive to suffer the symptoms of the disease that the doctor has diagnosed". Did you also run into the line of people you reach before talking to the doctor that are eager to give you their own diagnosis? All they want to do is make you think that they are important even though they are obviously wrong. The worst if from the telephone jockey who is only redirecting your call.  (Jan 10, 2016 | post #2)

Urology

Unusual problem of Testicular pain

There is a very low probability that anyone is going to read a single paragraph as so very long as that one. If noting else, just place extra linefeed at 5 sentences or so just to let it look inviting.  (Dec 16, 2015 | post #424)

Incredible pain at top of each testicle

I am about to try acupuncture. Is there anyone here familiar with it?  (Oct 28, 2015 | post #2)

Gastric Bypass For Weight Loss???

Don't do it! RUN away from this discussion. Simply go to the book store and look at the number of books written about drastic consequences on this (in my opinion) malpractice. If you are still convinced, then spend a month sticking to the "diet" you will be forced to maintain after the surgery. There are very serious complications that you will be prevented from discussing.  (Dec 3, 2012 | post #2)

I have a love hate relationship with food...

I am not trying to over simplify things but did you ever separate desire from ego? Yes, ego can drive us to eat but desire is more your body telling you that it needs something. Something is missing from the diet. Therefore, we tend to sample everything until that biological desire goes away. Unfortunately, not only do we not know what that missing element was and we sampled a lot of things we didn't need the medical profession is busy claiming we failed because we are too stubborn. I have never known anyone over weight that eats because they want to gain weight. Search for those foods that answer that biological desire and your habits will start to change. Look for foods that give you energy and those that rob you of energy. I have no examples as it seems to be a topic that no one seems to talk about. I am almost 300 lbs but have lost 25 over the last few months just by seeking to answer that call. Maybe the discussion will spark here but you will never hear it from doctors, dieticians and nutritionists as they seem to be bent of preaching that 1950's misconception of the "balanced meal"  (Dec 3, 2012 | post #2)

The Risks Of Gastric Bypass Surgery Are Getting Smaller

Not so fast there guy. The suicide rate skyrockets with people who get Bypass surgery. Generally, it is forbidden to talk about the downsides of the surgery and when all that becomes a reality, it is too late, the surgery is done. It maybe out there but I never see any discussion as in actually doing the diet for a month BEFORE the surgery. In reality, if you can do that, then you probably don't need the surgery. Not only can your stomach grow back to its pre-cut size but NOTHING is done to help stop the desire to eat except blame the patient as being stubborn. Desire is not only ego but it is also your body telling you that you need certain nutrients (etc) Too bad studies are rare to help the patient on how to listen to their bodies for proper nutrition.  (Dec 3, 2012 | post #2)

Urology

Unusual problem of Testicular pain

Specifically, where is the pain? Is it only at the top of the testicle and the rest is not in pain? Is it on both? Such is the situation for me and I too ave had no results.  (Oct 31, 2012 | post #386)

Urology

Unusual problem of Testicular pain

Yours is the first post that parallels my note of many months ago. My pain is at the top of each testicle and nowhere else. It is so sensitive that it changes the way I walk and even the water from a shower is painful. I have been to a few urologists but no one has offered any answers however I have read enough to NOT have the Epididymis removed. Micro surgery is a possibility but a trip to Florida from Connecticut is not in the cards. Gainsville Hospital is the only location I have found that can do the operation. SO I live with it. I had some sort of shot of nerve deadening solution that worked for about 15 minutes. Unfortunately when the doctor asked if it had worked, I thought he was asking if the change was permanent. I said no and he had no other options. Now I wonder if I had mentioned that it worked for the 15 minutes would there be a follow up procedure. I never did go back though. I guess I should. On a humorous side: I went to a female urologist. I stood there as she prodded and poked and took notes. She then said that I could now get dressed and she stood in back of a screen as I did. I asked why she did that. She said to give me some privacy. I asked "After what we just went through, was there really any privacy left? We laughed about this...  (Oct 13, 2012 | post #380)
