Needham named library director

I guess HSM is just jealous that her goosestepping hasn't meant any sweeping changes at the Marysville Library...  (Tuesday Aug 18 | post #6)

So let me get this straight... e-books which I can read on my Kindle are bad even though a lot of people get enjoyment out of them, just like regular books. But because HSM home schooled her kids she thinks they are a waste and the library must pander to what she wants. Since introducing the Kindle was introduced Amazon has sold over 43 million devices. There are also many free e-reader apps on iPads plus Nooks etc. There are less than 2 million kids being home schooled. So...no. Sorry HSM, you CHOSE to home school your kids, YOU should have to foot the bill and buy the books etc. There, once again you can cry about oppression lol  (Tuesday Aug 18 | post #5)

I agree! I absolutely love our library and its staff. It's kind of ironic, but as a multiple Kindle owner, I now find myself using the library more than ever.  (Tuesday Aug 4 | post #2)

Unlike the private sector, jobs like this will have a set pay scale. She was hired in and probably given a designation such as "Library Director" and is on the first rung of that pay scale ladder or in other words she is "Library Director 1" for the sake of payroll. A fire fighter, also a public job, may have years of experience but when they change departments they may start at the lowest level all over again, but even that lowest level may be a pay raise from their old job. Just depends on the municipality etc. Again, this is guesswork on my part but based on years in the public sector. Hope it helps.  (Jul 14, 2015 | post #62)

lol people will gripe about anything...... and as far as the original poster, maybe they should be more aware because you can see a beer truck from quite a distance.  (Jul 8, 2015 | post #11)

They are allowed to park in the street (thus double parking) if there are no open spots up to 30 minutes. Now you are correct, if they are there over 30 minutes they are in violation but they are allowed to double park and have been allowed for years.  (Jul 7, 2015 | post #9)

What is ironic about your post is the fact that the delivery trucks DO have up to 30 minutes to deliver.  (Jul 6, 2015 | post #4)

It's legal. Without it, how would businesses get their goods?  (Jul 6, 2015 | post #2)
