"Because religious belief, or non-belief, is such an important part of every person's life, freedom of religion affects every individual. Religious institutions that use government power in support of themselves and force their views on persons of other faiths, or of no faith, undermine all our civil rights. Moreover, state support of an established religion tends to make the clergy unresponsive to their own people, and leads to corruption within religion itself. Erecting the "wall of separation between church and state," therefore, is absolutely essential in a free society." Thomas Jefferson, to the Virginia Baptists (1808) I am for freedom of religion, & against all maneuvres to bring about a legal ascendancy of one sect over another. -- Thomas Jefferson, letter to Elbridge Gerry, 1799 Religion is a subject on which I have ever been most scrupulously reserved. I have considered it as a matter between every man and his Maker in which no other, and far less the public, had a right to intermeddle. -- Thomas Jefferson, to Richard Rush, 1813 Christianity neither is, nor ever was, a part of the common law. -- Thomas Jefferson, letter to Dr. Thomas Cooper, February 10, 1814, responding to the claim that Chritianity was part of the Common Law of England, as the United States Constitution defaults to the Common Law regarding matters that it does not address. I am for freedom of religion, and against all maneuvers to bring about a legal ascendency of one sect over another. -- Thomas Jefferson, to Elbridge Gerry, 1799. No man [should] be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry whatsoever, nor [should he] be enforced, restrained, molested, or burthened in his body or goods, nor ... otherwise suffer on account of his religious opinions or belief ... All men [should] be free to profess and by argument to maintain their opinions in matters of religion, and ... the same [should] in no wise diminish, enlarge, or affect their civil capacities. -- Thomas Jefferson, Statute for Religious Freedom, 1779. So please, tell me why the library employees must adhere to "christian values"? I understand many of our Founding Fathers were Christian and many were Deist, but to require christian values of a library employee? Ludicrous AND illegal.  (Mar 24, 2015 | post #21)

Really? Please tell us how many times are the words "god", "Jesus" or "Christ" mentioned in the Constitution. You should care about ISIS and the Taliban because they are EXACTLY what you are wanting. A theocracy. Sorry, moron girl, I don't need your god, or any god. I don't pray for others, I help others. I don't preach about values I don't believe in like you. I don't gossip or bear false witness either, something you EXCEL at. You are a mess.  (Mar 6, 2015 | post #13)

You were the one who demanded that OTHERS have your same values. You said that librarians need to show good CHRISTIAN morals, or do you forget that? What about if a patron is Jewish, Hindu, Muslim or atheist? Why does your faith dictate how others should be? Sorry, but I have had enough of that crap thrown at me to know it simply doesn't fly. When you decide how you and your children live is the way everyone should live that is when you are dead wrong. While ISIS and the Taliban are extreme examples of theocracy, what you are demanding is a theocracy nonetheless. May Odin's, Zeus's, Ra's, Jehovah's etc etc wisdom be bestowed upon you. Your Brother, Eluveitie.  (Mar 4, 2015 | post #8)

My problem is with YOU and your idiotic, sanctimonious posts. You area gossiping ninny and then act like you are holier than anyone else. You demand everyone should be a christian and then act in a most unchristian way. You want change? Then work with the district and try to enact change. get off that pathetic soapbox and do something rather than making yourself feel superior by bringing up other people's personal lives and expounding up on how your children will be perfect because you home school them. You really do make me ill....  (Mar 4, 2015 | post #6)

And your constant gossiping? James 3:8, “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” "With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be." - James 3:9-10 NIV You love to state how your christian values make you better than others and in THAT you are committing sin according to YOUR religion. But it's okay to sin isn't it? As long as the gossip is about someone who isn't as good a person as you are. Sorry, but just because you are smug and go to church does NOT give you the right to constantly gossip and judge. Not according to me, but according to your god.  (Jan 23, 2015 | post #92)
