I don't believe in God, so why is it that I don't want to...

Haha true, I just find how naturally everything works to be too much to be… Well okay. If someone who knew all told me there was a god, I would believe him. If he said there wasn't, I'd readily believe that too. Neither would surprise me.  (Jan 12, 2012 | post #239)

Pol Pot victory monument opens in Vietnam

That is not how I intended it at all! I cried the entire time I was there and still as I think about it I tear up, I can't believe that you would say I hate the Khmer people! I had contact with many survivors and I have adopted their views of the events, they saw Pol Pot as the leader of the regime and therefore responsible for the deaths of their family members. Don't you call me a fucker because you misread what I said. I have never felt the sympathy I felt for the Khmer families who suffered.  (Jan 12, 2012 | post #64)

Gay marriage a threat to humanity's future - Pope

I agree. Except for the legal part. They saw it as ownership of the woman, to my understanding, and that seems like a somewhat legal likeness to me but that's pretty much irrelevant.  (Jan 12, 2012 | post #137)

Gay marriage a threat to humanity's future - Pope

Look I'm just saying that marriage is a legal thing now unless held on a church. If the church doesn't want gay marriages on their property fair enough. If they do, then fair enough. I'm just posting my opinion here like anyone else. The other cultures are many throughout asia, American pre-settlement natives had their own culture of marriage.  (Jan 11, 2012 | post #113)

Was it a dream or something real ??

I believe I had a paranormal experience when in visiting a jail in which people were tortured and killed in Vietnam. I entered an old cell and felt an enormous weight overcome me. I stepped out and it was gone. I stepped into another, identical cell and felt nothing, then back into the other and felt weighed down and sluggish. I didn't know what I was doing, I was 14, but all I could think was sadness when I was in that room, pain. Some tormented spirit. What I did was I blessed the room. I'm not religious but I said something along the lines of 'Bless this room and the spirits it contains for they have undergone hardship. Let them be at peace.' and whoosh, all gone. It was so strange. It sounds like your spirit, if you have one, is trying to reach you or threaten you. I'd suggest an Ouija board (or however it's spelt). I am doubtful it is a spirit because I'm not a believer but I am open minded and would be interested to hear if you get any results.  (Jan 11, 2012 | post #8)

Can pills really help us lose weight?

I don't see why not, but I also don't see the need. Nothing is a healthier way to lose weight than excersise and a balanced diet, anything else should only be used moderately and in conjuction with a healthy and active lifestyle.  (Jan 11, 2012 | post #25)

Workplaces ban not only smoking, but smokers themselves

Isn't that discrimination and illegal?  (Jan 11, 2012 | post #10)

I don't believe in God, so why is it that I don't want to...

Because you don't believe in the Christian ideology or god doesn't mean you are an atheist, look around and research other religions or just accept that you can't accept that all existence was merely a coincidence but you can't explain it and then get on with your life :] there are many things that will never be explained.  (Jan 11, 2012 | post #227)

Smoking ban to go before Ohio Supreme Court

Wonderful! It is just a slow form of involuntary suicide! It should be outlawed everywhere, or at the very least make the playing field equal and legalize marijuana and other less harmful substances.  (Jan 11, 2012 | post #19205)

After cancer hit, women lobbied for a bald Barbie

I think it would be a beautiful initiative for the company to make but it shouldn't be forced to make this product. I would love to see a bald barbie in stores as much as I would love to see a lesbian Disney princess ;) society is trying to make everyone accepted. My cousin and best friend suffered leukemia and was put in isolation. He was 7. I was 11. There were two 20x30cm windows through which we could see eachother. We would stand with our hands pressed together through the glass. I remember the day his hair fell out, he grabbed it in handfuls from his head and stared at it, crying. I know that a bald barbie would have done little to help him but I can't imagine the impact it would have on young girls undergoing chemotherapy.  (Jan 11, 2012 | post #1)

Marijuana Does Not Harm Lungs, Says Government Study

Marijuana is illegal because the hemp industry was threatening the cotton industry. It is much safer that tobacco and arguably safer than alcohol. If you have little risk of developing a mental illness or have no family history of schizophrenia or epilepsy then the drug, with infrequent use, would probably give no negative side effects. It is addictive because when smoked it releases 'dopamine'. This is what gives one the high but it is produced naturally by the body anyway. As you smoke more your body slows it's producing of dopamine and relies on 'dope' for it. It is RELATIVELY almost harmless. RELATIVELY.  (Jan 11, 2012 | post #59)

Pol Pot victory monument opens in Vietnam

Pol pot was a hideous human being. I have been to Cambodia, seen the skulls, tripped over the bones of children that still rise from the ground, cried against the tree where they would smash babies infront of their mothers, seen the bloodstains on the walls of the S21 torture chambers, spoken to people who have lost their entire family and even seen their deaths in front of them. He is equivalent to Hitler, if not more sadistic.  (Jan 11, 2012 | post #55)

Gay marriage a threat to humanity's future - Pope

I am bisexual and my girlfriend is the most beautiful thing on this planet. I can't imagine not being able to declare our love through marriage if it one day comes to that, it wouldn't just come true like it would for any straight couple. Homophobia pushes wonderful people to suicide, and not allowing gay marriage is homophobia. I understand that some Christians think of it as a holy event but it's really not any more. It was invented in countless other cultures before the world became the culturally-aware place that it is (to an extent) today and people need to realize that the worth of other people's beliefs and happiness are on par with their own.  (Jan 11, 2012 | post #110)
