Is Track-Side Bar and Grill Wittmann or Surprise?
You want every small business to make it. If for no other reason than to re-establish that the Wal-Marts of the world have not destroyed the dream of the individual’s desire of owning their own business. However...if Trackside is wise and open minded they will take notice to the suggestions and complaints listed throughout this forum because only 1 in a hundred customers will actually tell you the real reason they are not coming back if they give you a reason at all. Your base is what keeps the lights on and new comers give you the opportunity to build on that base. Unfortunately I had been taking business associates and friends who were visiting from other states to experience Trackside as a Wittmann site-novelty until management changed and yes service and food became worse. Sometimes if the food is above and beyond- bad service can be an odd ball novel-attraction in itself...Trackside does not have that privilege. I would hope that the establishment’s owner(s) would take notice to some of these comments. Of course we can tell if they do...because if they do and take from some of the suggestions the parking lot will begin to refill and we will see it when driving by. If not the for sale sign from the bank will be out in the bar ditch along Grand Ave. (Sep 22, 2009 | post #103)
Wittmann residents irked by annexation plans
I have recently been contacted about the wittmanncitizens.c om site being confused with http://www.wittman nnews.com and wanted to clarify that the two sites are not now nor never have been associated in any way. http://www.wittman nnews.com evolved following the 2008 general elections when local residents indicated support and a need for a local news source that could be available to them on matters of local concern and provide a more in depth coverage format that topix.com did not permit. Also it would allow for original sources of information to be recognized rather than hearing about events through the grapevine. http://www.wittman news.com at this time is totally funded through the owner’s private resources and is intended to serve as a community service. Any promotional services for local businesses in the Wittmann-Morristow n or edge of Surprise areas are provided as a courtesy in an effort to encourage Wittmann residents to do support local small business owners. Again wittmannnews.com is in no way associate with wittmanncitizens.c om nor any other website other than those listed through the wittmannnews.com! Peace and have a safe and happy Labor Day… (Sep 7, 2009 | post #28)

big brother looking for more action...
Thanks for the nice hello's I try to only say something when I feel I have something worth saying...on here at least... There is also a second issue that will not necessarily take a vote but may involve committee action on behalf of the General Accountability Office. It is getting used by propaganda groups...it deals with making Afgan National Police and Pakistani Police account for weapons and funding the United States has provided them in the fight against the Taliban. This is a new directive being issued by Marine Corps Major General Arnold Fields who was newly appointed to Special Inspector General for Afghanistan in January 2009. He wants authority to inspect Afghans’ police official’s homes and properties for missing weapons who he believes may be responsible for smuggling them to the Taliban. (Note: In a recent fight with Taliban hoods a dozen of their fighters were killed by U.S. Troops just outside an Afghanistan village. A check of 30 magazines taken from the dead insurgents' rifles found that at least 17 held ammo that bore distinctive factory stamps of U.S. suppliers in California.) In another fight outside the village of Wanat 9 Americans killed 27 wounded...Military Investigators found a local police had helped carry out the attack using weapons supplied to Afghan police through private American contractors then sold to the Taliban. Prior to President Obama's 1st day in office there was no demand for accountability of where the weapons and cash was going and now with the General's push there is beginning to be and that is generating fear back in the states through propaganda talk radio and blogs that these are policies being eventually intended for hometown USA. You can find out more about Inspector General Mills mission and progress of his work at sigar.mil where he posts his quarterly reports to Congress. To enact this type of warfare policy in a zone that is receiving U.S. military aide may be considered a responsible act but saying it will be put in to place in America is a political scare tactic! In this information age the idea that something so sinister to civil liberties could sneak by is pretty offending to serious watchdog groups who really know what’s happening. If you rewind to 1984 the Brady Bill endorsed by republican President Ronald Reagan did more to limit the possession of gun owners rights than any currently pending and to go further back than that when Reagan was Governor of California he led a coalition and succeeded to have laws created nationally...that made it illegal for a person to have a gun inside their vehicle, on their person in public, near city or state parks, and in some cases within their homes. Something the current administration isn’t even talking about. They are trying to get weapons out of the hands of Taliban soldiers. A double topic here but the gun scare issue needs very careful study because the information is getting crossed over to where it doesn’t apply. It is important to our troops in this one manner and I hope the propaganda doesn’t cause the matter to swirl away support from the cause. (Aug 14, 2009 | post #13)
big brother looking for more action...
During the Senate's work on this bill, they attached two unrelated amendments to it. The first amendment, similar to H.R.226, would restrict the FCC from re-promulgating the fairness doctrine, and the second amendment, the "Second Amendment Enforcement Act," would deny D.C. the authority to limit the private ownership or use of firearms. The gun amendment has caused Democrats to balk, and the bill is now considered tabled indefinitely. Our elected officials from across the country all represent D.C. and select their government right down to the Mayor if one needs appointed. Hires top city staff and appoints city officials so D.C. is ran by the man of the hour. The law being discussed strictly applies to the District of Columbia and has been tabled in the Senate indefinitely...by the way it was boasted and led by none other than a guy named Joe Lieberman a somewhat newly Independent from CT who not only sponsored the bill but also is a upstanding member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Until D.C. and other territories become states they should expect to be exorcised with the same treatment. As for such a law being passed through out the states there would be much too much resistance and an uprising the likes that hasn't been seen since Custer's Last Stand and that is something not even Halliburton can’t protect the powers that be from! Luke Building Permit Restrictions
When Supervisor Max Wilson said that the moratorium was lifted he also said that building permit requests would be considered one by one and decided if they would be granted. What should be more of a rage is that our friendly neighbors in Surprise, Peoria, Glendale, and from points east to south are paying a Washington D.C. Lobbying Firm Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars to make sure that Federal Legislation will block Arizona Property Owners from retaining full rights to enjoy their property rights. The property owners will hold the note and make payments to the bank on the land but these government entities will dictate how the property will be utilized. Sort of like Russia waging war in to Georgia, a group of hardened artery sufferers have invaded Wittmann. (May 14, 2009 | post #2)
What Would You Pay to Be Annexed In To Surprise?
The zones that are in place can be extended if the Air Force suggests the need and probably will because of the sound problem and air quality or lack of the F-35 emits. Yes the building permit for a front porch was at my neighbors who have lived next to me for 7 years and we are out of the restricted zones his home is approx. 1 mile from the flight path. He was told no permits period! We had originally been told our property was clear of the zone restrictions the day before Goldwater took the county to court. I know that the county allowed the sale of several homes that were directly under the flight zone but had been built before this all started. Right now the attitude is "great" we'll do what we want to and build without permits. Ultimately it’s going to cost the homeowner and county more than if they would cease this power grab. What Would You Pay to Be Annexed In To Surprise?
The issue isn't so much noise it is the restricted building zones created since 2004 to include property owners who have homes and are unable to get building permits to build or even rebuild after a crisis such as a fire. I found out over the weekend that residents as far out as 1 mile away from the zones that were designed during the last year are now being refused building permits for improvements such as building a porch on the front of their home. With the implentation of the F-35 the zones may push further out by as much as five miles many who are not affected now will be because the zones created in recent years will not contain the noise impact levels the F-35 brings along with the pollution. Air Force Ditches F-22 Program Looks To F-35 Fighter Jets For A...
Its a roll of the dice. Depending on how deep in to the zones the property is will affect which permits get issued and which ones don't. The properties I referred to only had sections of their boundaries in the zone and the house itself was just outside that area. (Apr 25, 2009 | post #5)
Air Force Ditches F-22 Program Looks To F-35 Fighter Jets For A...
I know of three homes that have been sold that have partial areas of the property their on that are included in the zones. The homes are now being occupied by the owners...I do not know of any homes or permits that have been issued for any new projects in the flight zones. The homes I referred to have been built for 3+ years and were sitting empty until this month. It appears that most of the projects going in are along Grand up to 211th Ave then back west to Crozier Road. (Apr 25, 2009 | post #2)
In 2006 I began volunteering services to topix.com to provide a local perspective for residents and interested parties in the Wittmann, Arizona area. The information and forums have allowed information to be available that would otherwise not have been available to the public in Wittmann at large. As I have quoted Will Rogers...who once said "he only knew what he read in the newspaper." I compare today's world of communications has one that evolved to where now for most people...they only know what is read on the worldwide web. For that reason I had chose to edit this page...to give my neighbors and community a source to turn to in order to find news reports. Materials that can inform and keep you advised eliminating the need for hours of browsing to find out what is happening next door or down the street. Wittmannites and interested parties who find they can no longer post on this site due to assaults on them from characters in hiding - can now go to http://www.wittmannnews.com to see a more complex news site geared to update you at the local level. Plus there are forums that are moderated preventing the abuses harbored on the Freedom of Speech claim that some use to protect their defects of character. This all being said I would like to invite anyone who wishes to...to contact topix.com and request to become an editor for the locals who may still try to navigate through this part of town. In the meantime the news postings will be automated through a system called Robo Blogger. I will work with topix.com to allow for emergency updates and be available for postings that create a nature of imminent peril for the local community. Keep it real! Peace...elkc
