I've never heard anything bad regarding the programs at Ga. Southern or Kennesaw. I personally know a couple of the professors at Kennesaw, so I'm a little biased there. :) ...and I'm not surprised, TGVR that they are so poor regarding advisement at West Ga. History departments are notorious for just letting you sink or swim for some reason unless you connect with a professor early on.  (Sunday Dec 13 | post #751)

Emory....UGA both have great history departments. However, West Georgia and even Kennesaw have wonderful history departments, too. I know some of the professors at both schools and they are very knowledgeable and have been published in several of the professional journals as well as writing their own books. Tell him to go on the weekend visits to the schools of his choice and actually talk to some of the kids involved in the history program...this might need to be set up ahead of time. This way he can ask the students what they think of the program and get some info regarding the professors. Let me know where he decides to go. :)  (Saturday Dec 12 | post #746)

Vermont is one of the few states that was actually a sovreign goverment unto itself prior to becoming part of the United States. The territory of Vermont was actually part of New France and it became a possession of Great Britain after the French and Indian War. The treaty you refer to is the Treaty of Paris of 1763. New York and New Hampshire disputed the boundaries set for Vermont....you might want to look up the Green Mountain Boys for some information regarding some some of the disputes. Hope this helps a little... Let me know if you have any specific questions. :)  (Friday Dec 11 | post #744)

Merry Christmas

Lovely words, Wess12.....just lovely. Yes, I remember fondly those very early Christmas mornings, but I also cherish our family brunches we now hold instead of the exclamations, "Look what Santa brought!" In a few years ( at least I hope it will be a few years) there will be grandchildren and the flurry Santa can cause will begin all over again.  (Sunday Dec 6 | post #5)

DC Sheriff car turn signals must be inop....

LOL....Actually, I'm impressed that you are so well connected he was on your friend's list. I don't have anyone as important as that on my list. :)  (Friday Dec 4 | post #24)

DC Sheriff car turn signals must be inop....

While I appreciate what law enforcement does it just seems to me that they should follow the same exact traffic laws as the rest of us. Going through the Hospital Drive section of 92 the other day I noticed a sheriff's car had gotten behind me. Going up the hill towards Gables I watched my speed because I know they pull folks over through there all the time. Guess I was going too slow for him....he passed me and was going well over the speed limit. No lights, no nothing. He was just tired of going the speed limit with me. Happens all the time.....  (Friday Dec 4 | post #23)

Quarterman ARRESTED!!!

Hmmmm....do you think there is a connection? I don't think so. Lew's postings are structured better. He can actually put a sentence together and does seem to know how to spell. ....Even if Lew can't read my Latin postings and needs translation. I don't think Q-man is capable of posting with such dramatic style differences.  (Friday Dec 4 | post #33)

Quarterman ARRESTED!!!

Why is that so strange that I would do that? Those of us that have posted around here a long time tend to get to know each other and it just seemed at face value like an about face on your part. Why wouldn't we point inconsistencies in each other's postings? It certainly has been done to me. :) I certainly wasn't trying to hassle you or anything, and I know that you know that. You are one of my favorite Marines. I certainly agree with you that once or twice Quarterman's filings might have been taken seriously by some, but at this point he has become a joke of epic proportions, and is rather a sad little figure.  (Friday Dec 4 | post #32)

Quarterman ARRESTED!!!

While I agree with your response in many respects I do have to admit, my dear, that some of your postings on this thread go against previous postings where you have chided the rest of us for making negative comments regarding Mr. Quarterman by advising us that he really is a nice guy. A nice guy wasting my tax dollars because the county has to defend his frivolous filings.  (Friday Dec 4 | post #24)

Quarterman ARRESTED!!!

My, my, my, oh my! Will he learn his lesson? I hope so. Seriously....the DC Democratic Party leadership needs to rethink their connection with him.  (Friday Dec 4 | post #23)

Why does Topix block certain posts????

I don't like some of the negative comments and some of the more downright vulgar ones, but I'm not for censorship at all. I can remember an instance on the Midway thread where some postings of mine never made it on the board.  (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #5)
