Synergy/Bill in D'ville

Haven't been on Topix in several months other than to take a glance every now and then. I've been a little busy with the Douglas County history thing, but.....as I stated in 2012 Bill and Synergy are both friends of mine and are NOT the same person.......and while Jimmy might be on Topix (I know him, too) he is not Bill, and he his not Synergy. As for Synergy's looks: Well, she's pretty dang HOT. No joke..... I hate to disappoint you, but Bill is a great friend of mine. I couldn't run him down with words or my car.  (Feb 5, 2014 | post #25)

Dallas seafood company

Yes...where exactly is this place? Haven't heard of it. Wondering if its similar to Georgia Shrimp Company in Peachtree City. It's excellent.  (Feb 17, 2013 | post #11)

Douglasville / Douglas County. How do you change it for t...

You mentioned that "we the people" is a resource. What are some of the other resources Douglasville is wasting in your opinion? .....and How would you blend the old and the new?  (Feb 13, 2013 | post #141)

Well, at this point...you might know more than I do. I know that the owner of the property during the time the old farm house sat there had an interesting history, but I'm not sure about the intentions with log cabin being placed there. I do know that those log cabin kits were popular at that time, and there are a couple of other structures like that in the county.  (Feb 13, 2013 | post #14)

Ted Nugent Draft Dodger Leads Republican Party

We have the love of his music in common.....:) Sometimes I would like for him to cool his jets a little with his rhetoric though. It just polarizes people, and I'm getting a little tired of that.  (Feb 12, 2013 | post #15)

For what's it's worth I am a certified teacher....left the classroom a few years ago to pursue other things and due to some health issues. Most regulars on this board know that..... I'm sorry you have an issue with the times I'm online or offline, but it's really not my problem.  (Feb 12, 2013 | post #10)

You're sure? Really? You can tell that from a message board post? How astute of you....LOL  (Feb 12, 2013 | post #9)

Okay....I heard back from my source. If Former Resident is referring to the log cabin at the three way stop (Campbellton/Prest ley Mill) then its not significant historically. It was built with one of those log cabin kits. However, the cabin was built over the spot where an old farm house had sat for a long, long time. The house had burned in the 1970s, but that's an approximation. The farmer who lived in the farm house farmed a large area on that side of Campbellton Road. Later he sold the land to BR Kirkley, the man who owned the auto dealership in town. He eventually sold some of the land to various people for home lots. I'm intrigued now....I'll keep working on the identity of the man who owned the farm house.  (Feb 12, 2013 | post #12)

Before I'd believe Dee Snider on anything I'd take a gander a Snopes which has the matter as "undetermined ". It seems his service records would also be a more credible source than even Nugent's early interview about the matter where he says he was pulling the leg of the reporter..... From Snopes found here: http://www.snopes. com/politics/milit ary/nugent.asp The section regarding his service record states: "He was classified 1-5(high school deferment) in 1967 and 2-5 (college student deferment) in 1968; then after being reclassified 1-A (available for military service) in 1969 he was rejected as a result of a physical exam and given a 1-4 classification. (The 1-Y classification denoted persons 'qualified for service only in time of war or national emergency' and was generally assigned to registrants who had exhibited medical conditions that were limiting but not disabling.) After the 1-Y classification was eliminated at the end of 1971, Nugent was reclassified as 4-F." I don't know about any of you, but I highly doubt the military at the time would classify being dirty, scraggly, and not visiting the facilities properly as a "medical condition" that would keep someone from service. Those drill sergeants have a way of whipping people into shape....even poopy boys. Could it be that Nugent had a medical condition of some sort that he didn't want to disclose and he made up an outlandish tale? Perhaps this is why Snopes has the situation as "undetermined ". I'll take Nugent over Dee Snider any day. Didn't Dee wear lipstick???  (Feb 12, 2013 | post #5)

Me, either....unless former resident tells us it's another house altogether. I haven't heard from my source yet, but if it was built in '83 well... :)  (Feb 12, 2013 | post #10)

The log cabin I'm thinking about is on Campbellton. It sits at the stop sign where Prestly Mill dead ends into Campbellton. Is there another one further back towards the expressway I haven't noticed?  (Feb 12, 2013 | post #6)
