Sorry Beth... I support our Nations constitution and subsequent amendments to the fullest. That includes freedom of choice, speech, association, religion, equal representation & protection of its laws to all constitutionally defined & identified United States citizens. There is no such thing as "Gay Marriage", there is only marriage. I do however support marriage and the constitution of the United States which clearly defines the qualifiers necessary to be recognized as a United States Citizen and the amenities of protection and representation of the laws. I support constitutional equality for all US citizens as defined by the 14th amendment. Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.  (Aug 12, 2010 | post #4)

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. Their are no exclusionary conditions. State licensed lawful marriage is a secular contract between two individual United States citizens and their respective State Government. Its a representational law that was established Federally in 1923 and through all States by 1929. Traditional marriage is a religious ceremony sanctioned by the Church and a contract between two individuals and their deity. Normal??? There is no such thing. Just rules and guidelines established by a society of varying personalities and differing degree's and kinds of crazy agreeing on a set standard to establish an acceptable behavior. I also do not think its normal for people to obsess on sexual activities of consenting adults, imagining the behavior of that sexual relationship, or the quantitative, quality or capability of others to love or be loved. Nor do I believe its normal for a State to restrict certain privileges of equal representation and protection or redefine the constitutional definition of a United States citizen.  (Aug 10, 2010 | post #76)

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. LOL... The only reason many Californians were allowed to vote in the first place is the exact same Constitutional amendment that Judge Walker applied in his ruling that invalidated this erroneous law with. Out of a population of 39000000, 7 million votes for this "religious and misinformation based hate law" is hardly a majority and in the best interest of the State.  (Aug 7, 2010 | post #59)

1st, This country was founded through a socialist agenda, (Read the preamble to the constitution), 2nd its the governments obligation to moderate & enforce the rights of the people to insure domestic tranquility and the general welfare of all US citizens, 3rd, I agree, the bill primary concern is subsidizing corporate profits with tax dollars and private funds through a health insurance mandate. Its horrible isn't it!! Health providers having to resort to defrauding the Government to recover losses that Corporate Insurance companies gauged from them with exclusions of "pre existing conditions", "claims of "experimental " or that insured was just not covered and those often unpaid "co-payments ", or fixed rate payments for services. It seems though that this 80 billion dollar "oversight " wasn't over looked... After all... many are being prosecuted for "fraud". ..  (Dec 1, 2009 | post #12)
