FBI steps in after Calif. beating death of Iraqi woman

I know I was shocked and surprised that this senseless act took place. I am the adoptive Father of an Iraqi Chaldean son. The Iraqi population here in El Cajon are good people. My heart goes out to the family of the woman killed by this nothing short of a cowardly person. I hope that you're caught soon and justice is finally served  (Mar 28, 2012 | post #2)

Michele Bachmann: Gay families are not 'families'

Michelle Bachman you're so full of shit as I have the honor of being gay and raising a gaily of my own. I don't count? My family doesn't count? Well remember that when it's time for you to be voted on at the polls. You won't have a vote cast for you in our name that's fit sure!!  (Aug 18, 2011 | post #218)

Mom, Dad...I'm Gay

You listen to everything they have to say, let them know that you love them unconditionally, and give them your support, always be there for them and make sure that they know that they are safe and are loved and accepted no matter what!  (May 11, 2011 | post #2)

Bourne firefighter loses job after posting anti-gay slurs...

Unfortunatly what he posted and how he posted as well as whom he posted it directly against isn't protected free speech. Now, he can say what ever he wants, this is true, but there are reprocussions because he is a "public figure/employye, working for a public town//governmental agency and it was directly aimed at his employer/bosses/su pervisors/co-worke rs, it was an anti-gay slur/comment against a group or individual person that could inflict/incite emotional distress/bodily harm etc." Obviously the city felt that he, after this was posted felt that he couldn't properly do his job because his comments were viewed as dicriminatory and he has taken an "othe" to protect and serve without wavier as a firefighter. It's no different than making a slur against someone of color or national origin etc. I'm sorry that they didn't feel the need to first remove him for service, sned him through some sort of Empathy training etc., most employers would give that lattitude and if there was another incident following, employment termination would be emminant. Bottom line is whether he felt right or wrong about it, he went about handleing it the wrong way and no, I for one don't feel sorry at all for him, it was wrong period.  (Mar 6, 2011 | post #32)

Don't Ask Don't Tell - El Cajon, CA

It's way past the right time to do this. It was a quick compromise (DADT) at the time, so very flawed as it was, and the G/L men and women who serve us now as well as others deserve this change!! It's time period!!  (Dec 26, 2010 | post #2)

How gay uncles pass down their genes

As a Gay parent, Grandparant and Uncle, there are many ways that we pass down our Genes.....they are not all just biologic. Being the number 5 in ranking of 15 brothers and sisters, we have a very large and extended family and that doesn't even to cover mine and my husbands. We are teachers of many things in life, unconditional love, acceptance, diversity, compassion, understanding, showing right from wrong, helpers in education, showers of knowledge, truth and the god, bad, evil and pitfalls that life throws at you. We are athletic coaches, avenues of support, hikers, bikers, campers, travelers and best friends. So, take a moment and think about some of these various ways that Genes are passed down through the generations in families. I can say without a doubt that our Genes are definatly passed down through all of our 6 boys and they are all straight all but two are married and most have their own children. So try thinking outside of the box, color outside of the lines, live and laugh a little bit more, life is so much more fun and enjoyable when you do just those few simple things.  (Feb 14, 2010 | post #16)

Woman fatally knifes thug in subway attack, flees on F train

Why is it that the first thing someone spews out is something with politics or religion???? This had absolutly nothing to do with either. It was a group of criminal thugs attacking a woman ( or as some of thposts state, it was a man ) either case, someone was being attacked by a group of criminal thugs period. However, the story, eyewitness accounts, initial police reports it as being a woman, which makes it even more LOW LIFE, end of story. They're a bunch of hoodlem cowards who prey on innocent and potentially defenseless people and let's not forget it was what 7-8 to one small person from eyewtness reports??!! And how are you making the determination that it was an "illegal knife??" I don't think that you were there, I don't believe there was a weapon recovered, and the true victim barely got away with her life. I think that justice was served for one of the attackers and it will be a matter of time before the rest get their just dues.  (Dec 28, 2009 | post #87)

Woman fatally knifes thug in subway attack, flees on F train

WOW!!! I'm surprised by some of the posts/reactions to this story. A woman is being harrassed, chased, attacked, pulled off of a train and the first thing that some of you want to say because she defended herself and thrwted off her attackers is that, "oh maybe it's a drug deal, prostitute, etc." I doubt very seriously those are the facts or have anything to do with this incident. She was being attacked, she defended herself with the use of deadly force. I'm willing to bet most if not all would agree. These low-life thugs have no right to do this to her or anyone else period. Walk a minute in her shoes. It's unfortunate that the attacker died, yes, he was a father, son etc. but also with a group of criminals attcking a WOMAN!! How macho, manly is that???!!! He paid the price for his crimes and hopefully the other will not be far behind. Unless you are the victim of an assault, rape, mugging, violent crime such as this, you cannot or will never know what she was going through, obviously the woman was in fear for her life and did what she needed to do to protect herself. I've seen first hand some of the street crimes that go on in New York, AND many major cities around as well as small communities as well. No one unfortuantly is immune to something like this. I'm sure that more information will come to light with MTA video footage and through the proper investigation. Thoughts and pryers to the young woman who escaped and prayers to the family of the man who died as a result of his actions.  (Dec 28, 2009 | post #83)

When did you realize you were gay?

WOW!!! Almost identical point on point (post 2 and 3 )as to myself as well. I did however, giving into to whole BS schbeal about church and a wife and kids. I knew that I always wanted to be a parent, unfortunatly I went through the whole staright marriage thing. After my wife passed in a car accident, I met a really great guy and found the true meaning of life. We had two more children and adopted three. I couldn't be happier and no one can ever try to tell me otherwise. If it starts, contains or has the bible this, the church that, then they really don't want to know anything else about life. People are born Gay, it's not a choice, it's who we are, just as some are white, of color, male or female.  (Nov 29, 2009 | post #652)

Why Gay Marriage Is Such A Big Deal

Unfortunatly some of the posters on here believe that this is a religous thing, equal rights that is what we are seeking has not a thing to do with religion. You can keep your cult beliefs of religion I'm sure that most will agree with that.  (Nov 8, 2009 | post #48)
