Dent shows he cares about constituents

I have voted for Charlie in the past, but with his current stand, oppossing health care reform, it is going to be easy to jump to Callahan. Sorry, Charlie, you been good, but not great. Time to move on.  (Jul 28, 2009 | post #10)

Your comments are absurd to say the very least. Profits are not bad, but the outrageous greed of insurance companies is bad. This is not about class warfare, its about class survival... ALL CLASSES, not just the ill-informed bigots like you, Libby  (Jul 16, 2009 | post #7)

New weirdness in Darcy tale

I was part of the PNEC Board that booted her in '92. We emplored the congregation to rid themselves of her then, but they refused. It has taken a 17+ year toll on them. I hope the recovery begins  (Jul 16, 2009 | post #5)

Where to find fresh mozzarella, curds

I appreciate this is not Earth shattering news in the Morning Call, but when you do a story like this, there always seems to be this picking of favorite places when there are obvious ones left out. I don't know if it's because some of them advertise or the writer knows them, but the picks here seem light weight to some of the better cheese places in the Lehigh Valley.  (Jul 16, 2009 | post #1)

Refugees find life is a picnic in the United States

You know absolutely nothing about me. You make absurd assumptions about my life. I will not even comment on your post  (Jul 16, 2009 | post #92)

My point is that if you follow the thread of the comments back to the origin, the original commentor was making an ill fated attempt to make Switzerland sound like the Utopia of countries and making the US sound like crap. You make a good point, as I have tried, that there is good in all countries and there is bad in all countries  (Jul 15, 2009 | post #89)

Honestly most Americans that visit NEW Mexico think they are world travelers. When they hit the islands it is LONG or RHODE. I hear you  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #76)

That is not true. There are a significant number of countries that have two languages or even three. It is also not true that all great grandparents learned proper English. Many did, but some didn't. It must be nice to remember things the way you wished they were  (Jul 13, 2009 | post #66)

I totally agree with you on schools. I do not have any kids in school and never have, but I do realize that is why they are PUBLIC schools. I don't regret having to pay for others to learn. If we change that, only the kids who can afford to go to school will get a good education. At least this way, everyone has the shot at it. It is up to them to take it  (Jul 13, 2009 | post #65)

We can open the door to Iraqi immigrants, but I am betting there wont be that many. The Iraqi people pretty much hate us and want us out of their country. We haven't made many friends in 7 years  (Jul 13, 2009 | post #58)

I would hope that I would have the ethical and moral character to stand up for what is right. The same question applied to the early Americans. You can fight to be free or you can sit here and be taxed out of existance. People like Washington, Jefferson and others decided that the decision was tough, but right. I am guessing you would have told the British, "Who do I make that check out to  (Jul 13, 2009 | post #56)

Why don't we just tear down the Statue of Liberty and sell it off as scrap? It was built there as a beacon of who and what the United States was and hopefully still is.  (Jul 13, 2009 | post #25)

Did you know that Switzerland harbored Nazi money during WWII so as not to be invaded. Did you know that Switzerland even today keeps blind bank accounts for some of the worlds most ill gotten monies. AHHH, nice place to be. Full of white collar criminals for generation after generation  (Jul 13, 2009 | post #24)

Easton waterfront project

That is my exact point. We have seen dozens of 'plans' created by 'consultants'. We have heard dozens of 'task forces' and 'committees' and 'authorities' 'discuss' and 'review' and 'present' to the public. After countless hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent on Mayor Mitman, Mayor Panto, Lou Ferrone, Lou Pektor and their friends and familes, we still have not one thing to show on the waterfront of Easton. We haven't even decided if we need to have something there. What is wrong with a simple view of the river  (Jul 8, 2009 | post #4)

Yippee ! Another plan, another announcement, another plan, another million, another plan, another committee to review the plan. Yippee ! Call me when something gets done. I have seen Riverwhore, Rivercontainer, RiverMr.Easton, RiverMayor, and none of it every amounts to anything.  (Jul 7, 2009 | post #2)
