wow topix texarkana sucks

I am in favor of the repeal of Dont Ask, Don't Tell and would be glad to discuss that. I would be interested how a serviceman (thanks) sees that issue. Dwayne  (Dec 21, 2010 | post #26)

Miller County Election called into Question

This just in.... Miller County is re-counting the votes from the County Judges race. I understand that a person made a complaint about voting for one candidate for Senate and see another candidate on her screen. This event somehow precipitated Judge Roy John McNatt to ask for a recount of his race, to which the election judges upon their on motion, agree to do. The recount started at 10 am and continued into the night. They stopped about 60% of the way through at 8 pm. There are poll watchers there and the Miller County Patriots have had a representative there as well all day. I was allowed into the counting room at the begining today and was video taping for a minute or so when the election commissioner, Larry Dowd, as me to comeout into the hall and stop filming. I asseted my right to record the event and he denied it. After much waiting from a phone call from the Secretarty of State, the decision was the same. When I showed that I was going to continue to tape the event they had me ejected from the Miller County Courthouse by a Sheriffs Deputy. I was told not to come back until the event was over. I went to the Sheriffs office and he said he was not going to remove me from the Courthouse and I was welcome there. He said he would let his deputy know and I went back and no one stopped me as I taped the proceedings. The cameras are coming to the Miller County Courthouse, and the light of day will bring about a more open and responsive government. I am not saying that anyone was cheating today, but it is my experience that when someone doesnt want to be recorded that they may be planning to lie about something later. The count goes on....anyone want to join me in filming the count tommorow?  (Nov 9, 2010 | post #1)

Velma Moores ad for Natalie Nichols on 10-31-10

I support Natalie and her campaign. The incumbent has some to learn about the Texas Open Records Act and open government, looks like she might be learning.... dh  (Oct 31, 2010 | post #13)

Texarkana's Mayoral Candidates

We took a straw poll at the Miller County Patriots and Wayne Smith won. There were some votes for Mike Kelly, but Smith came out ahead. About the vicious post from someone calling themselves "Honestly "..... I know Wayne Smith and have known of him for more than 30 years, my father worked with him at the local Federal Prison. He is am honest and hard working man. He will listen, and he has listened to points of view other than his own. He can think on his feet, and he will follow the law and the rules. He believes in free speech and the Constitution and will back it every time. He will not run roughshod over the public. Give this man a chance and you will see a big change in the way our city is ran. No more hidden deals, and back room no bid contracts. No more letting the 'important' people talk then voting to silence the public. Texarkana Arkansas deserves better government and with Wayne Smith's help we will get it. Please note I am not afraid to post my real name and everyone should know how to get ahold of me and ask me questions about Wayne Smith or anything else.  (Oct 30, 2010 | post #7)

Jeff Akin's Credibility

Good for you, research and paying attention is good for the revolution. If the people were properly informed, it would be a lot easier to reform our out of control government. The Constitution protects the people from the government, not the other way around. Thanks for caring enough to inform yourself and voting! dh  (Oct 30, 2010 | post #164)

Jeff Akin's Credibility

I deny stealing the sign, I thought I just said that. Being after the primary, no "theft" is possible because that requires a culpable mental intent to deprive the owner of its use. As a matter of fact, Ralph Hall himself thanked me for bringing his sign (the only one that day) to the Tea Party. Whats really the matter, Dave? I mean do you feel politically inadequate or personally deficient?  (Oct 17, 2010 | post #77)

Jeff Akin's Credibility

No, Tina, that would be inaccurate. I actually have an agenda item placed on each agenda for my time to speak. Now, how about you, Tina, what are you really mad about? Many folks live lives of quiet desperation and whether or not that describes you, I urge you to speak out when you have something to say. I am still a little bashful myself but trying to come out of my shell. I find using my real and complete name and telling the truth helps...... Dwayne Hall  (Oct 17, 2010 | post #75)

Jeff Akin's Credibility

No, Dave it would be inaccurate to say that I had ever STOLE a Ralph Hall sign. However, now that you mention it, although Jim Prindle, the Libertarian Candidate has made a good case for why Ralph Hall should spend more time at home, I gotta admit that HALL FOR CONGRESS just has a certain ring to it, ya know? Jeff Akin's Credibility

No, thats not true, I am proud to be Republican. I am registered as a Republican and elected as the Miller County Republican Commitee Representative for Arkansas' 4th District. How about you, Susan, whats really the matter, surely you are disatsfied with the current political situation. Are you a Republican, Democrat or what?  (Oct 17, 2010 | post #73)
