Autism genes are surprisingly large, study finds

Well no offense to you, but I think I'll move on. Any one who would cite data from a source and then allege that same source lies, just something very puzzling about that.  (Nov 22, 2013 | post #37)

Well if the CDC lies why are you citing the CDC as a source of your information?  (Nov 21, 2013 | post #35)

Abortion rights advocates: Illuminate meant to stop abort...

You can't be consistent in your beliefs if you honestly believe that a woman "should" have an abortion if she's assaulted. It is her choice and I'm sure that's what you actually meant to say, "she should have a choice", at least I hope that is what you meant.  (Nov 21, 2013 | post #47)

Abortion rights advocates: Illuminate meant to stop abort...

I have to agree that this is not about women's health as much as it is about regulating access to an abortion. But given the fact that West Virginia's Medicaid program does cover abortion for poverty level women and families, the state should have the right to inspect, but not close down permanently.  (Nov 21, 2013 | post #46)

Minivan stop ends in shots fired, high speed chase for fa...

She was wrong for driving away, but I don't think she ever expected PO's would bust her windows out, point a tazer at her kids let alone shoot at her van. And she should not have expected it to happen because PO are not trained to act this way over a traffic stop as routine as this one was. It would be different, if she had used the van as a weapon or brandished a weapon. She posed no life threatening behavior towards these officers to warrant them shooting at her.  (Nov 20, 2013 | post #71)

The numbers do not reflect that there is a real increase in the number of cases. The numbers reflect that autism is being diagnosed more often. There is no epidemic according to the CDC and there is no link to vaccines/autism according to the CDC. The CDC doesn't say it's a "phenomenon " either.  (Nov 20, 2013 | post #32)

Electronic Cigarettes to Stop Smoking? Read This First

I love my electronic cigarette. I smoked tobacco cigarettes for 30+ years. Last year after being in the hospital with bilateral pneumonia and sepsis and getting the news that so far I had no signs of COPD or Emphysema, I decided now was a good time to quit since I had gone 9 days without smoking. This December will be my one year anniversary. It's more cost effective too.  (Nov 19, 2013 | post #3)

Science knows there is no one reason Autism is on the rise. Science also knows that 90% of those diagnosed with Autism have no underlying medical condition responsible for the symptoms. I am more inclined to believe that the common cause in this era is environmental versus genetic. The vaccine theory is valid but certainly not proof. Therefore from the ethical point of view I think not vaccinating is more threatening to society. The current rate is appox. 1 in 150. That's extremely high.  (Nov 19, 2013 | post #30)

That's one point of view, but it can also be viewed that she was protecting her children since the 14 year old had already confronted the PO. Confronted being a strong word, because in his mind he was protecting his mother. Why she drove away the first time I don't know, but I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt. Could have been a language barrier or confusion. Driving away from the law doesn't always mean evading.  (Nov 19, 2013 | post #27)
