Vontae Davis: Dolphins' top draft pick arrested

Living here in VA Tech country, I'll have to disagree with ya....lol!! I'm a 'Bama fan since the late 70's but I still root for local teams.  (Dec 22, 2011 | post #10546)

Yea, I made that comparison but I never said anything about the Dolphins being better than Green Bay. And the Jets will end up having a better record but they haven't been the better team over the past 7 weeks. And the record means nothing if the Jets are sitting at home watching the playoffs. Rex Ryan is already sayinf "if" the Jets lose this weekend, so he even has his doubts. http://espn.go.com /new-york/nfl/stor y/_/id/7374114/rex -ryan-says-blame-f alls-new-york-gian ts-beat-new-york-j ets  (Dec 21, 2011 | post #10538)

I didn't say that the Dolphins were as good as Green Bay, you came up with that by yourself. I was just commenting on how you said the Dolphins lost to lousy teams but they haven't. Yea, the record says the Dolphins are 5-9, but statistically, they are as good as your Jets, whether you want to admit it or not. Right now the Dolphins are playing great football and the truth is the Jets can't beat any decent teams (indicated by their win loss record). I guess it will all work out in the end and the Jets will be what their record says they are (probably 8-8 and missing the playoffs.....haha!!).  (Dec 20, 2011 | post #10533)

Funny how you still try to justify the Dolphins being so bad by saying they lost to lousy teams....LOL!! EVERY team they lost to (besides Cleveland) is in the playoff hunt. Both teams lost to New England, Philadelphia and Denver. The Jets lost to Oakland while the Dolphins beat them. I still don't see where you can justify that the Dolphins are that much worse than the Jets.  (Dec 19, 2011 | post #10513)

That is true, but isn't every team a team your supposed to beat, especially when your coach is guaranteeing a Super Bowl?? The thing is, none of the teams (except for Dallas) that the Jets have beaten are in the playoff hunt and every loss is to a team that will probably make the playoffs. If you can't beat the teams going to the playoffs what makes you think they will go to the Super Bowl. I'll be the first to admit that the Dolphins have looked bad for several years and I'm hoping they will hire a coach to turn things around. Right now the Jets are better than the Dolphins, but if they get a decent coach and a franchise QB then I think they will give the Jets a run for their money the next couple of years.  (Dec 16, 2011 | post #10489)

Funny how you downplay the Dolphins wins by saying they won against "hardly great teams". 7 of the Jets wins have come against "hardly great teams", they have only beaten one team with a winning record....LOL!!! And did I read that correctly, Sanchez would only be a senior right now?? That would mean they drafted him after his freshman year. They actually drafted him after his senior year but he still had a year of eligibility because he sat out his freshman year. Unless what I read was wrong.  (Dec 15, 2011 | post #10467)

Actually, it was 1972 but we will let you slide since you are a Jets fan. But let's be honest with each other. Now I'll admit that the Dolphins have not been a dominant team in the past 10 years and they started the season 0-7, which sucks. However, in the past 6 weeks they have been a completely different team winnig 4 of those games and losing to the Cowboys by 1 point. They dominated the Eagles with defense and the difference in that game was the turnovers and they couldn't get anything going on offense (which every teams has bad games even when they are winning). Now let me ask you, if the Dolphins continue to play as hard as they are playing and the Jets are on the bubble to make the playoffs, do you really want them to play the Dolphins the last game of the season? Hmm... Now, being a Dolphins fan it is hard for me to say this, but the Jets have been a good team the past few years. However, I don't think Sanchez is the QB to take them to the promise land, maybe close enough to smell it though. Even if they make it to the playoffs through the Raven, Patriots, Texans or Steelers (maybe even the Broncos) I dont think anybody has the defense or offense to keep up with the Packers (they may have an undefeated season). Now with that said, the Jets were the better team the first 7 games but the past 6 games I don't think so, maybe even say they could be equal over the past 6. Overall through the whole year the Dolphins rank 24th in total offense while the Jets rank 25th. In total defense the 'Phins rank 12th while the Jets rank 6th, but remember thats for the whole year. While you guys have the Eagles, Giants and Miami your final 3 games you are hanging on to your playoff life, we have nothing to play for which makes the last game of the season more interesting.  (Dec 14, 2011 | post #10450)

It was just a matter of time when Sparano got fired, he was done at the end of the season and we all knew it, why do we have to comment on it?? Todd Haleys firing just prompted them to move quicker, with the vacancy at Jacksonville and KC they didn't want to wait and lose out on a potential coach. And don't worry, the Jets have plenty of opportunities to choke and you're right, this board will be filled with comments.....LOL!!  (Dec 13, 2011 | post #10448)

Well, Since 2000 the Vikings lead that category but this represents players on the roster at the time, not former players. http://www.thedeet s.com/2011/10/22/m innesota-vikings-n ow-1-most-arrested -team-in-the-nfl/  (Dec 7, 2011 | post #10396)

No, I read that. I was just pointing out how you were defending Burress but brought up instances with Marshall. And yea, they started the season 0-7 but have one loss in the last 5 games. Right now, they are the team no playoff bubble team wants to play, like the Jets who may have a chance at the playoffs but have to come to Miami the last game of the season. Since our season is shot, it sure would be nice to see the Dolphins knock the Jets from playoff contention and don't worry, I don't think the Dolphins will sit their starters like the Colts did two years ago...  (Dec 7, 2011 | post #10394)

Funny, you defend Burress because he wasn't a Jet when he shot himself but dig up all theses instances with Marshall when he wasn't a Dolphin.....just saying!!  (Dec 6, 2011 | post #10365)

Sanchez should thank Indianapolis for the first year of the playoffs, remember, they sat their starters.....LOL!!  (Nov 17, 2011 | post #10302)
