Old Bowling Sign

I thought someone out there would appreciate that picture, hopefully it was a tear of good times and great memories. I have this picture mounted and framed and in need of a good home so if you would like to take it off my hands, for free, as a gift from me to you then get in touch. I'm not sure how I give my info without exposing myself to the entire Topix community but the offer still stands........Dude!  (Oct 13, 2013 | post #2)

Tangle'!!!!! Hardly fearsome or threatening language coming from a notorious gang member. Sounds like the 1950's called and gave you a few tips on language that scares folks! Violence and anger ofter come from frustration caused by not being able to express yourself or articulate your side of the story! Try putting down the gun and pick up a book. Knowledge is more powerful than threats. QUOTE who="Texas dubb"]you dont want to tangle with us  (Oct 13, 2013 | post #307)

Real Estate Developers File $750 Million Claim against BP...

So true and well said! We have become a nation of finger pointing when bad business and pure greed results in the demise of our industries in this country. We are in a new era of ecconomics and we are ill prepaired for the changes that come with global financial wows because we have a bad habit of not really caring until if effects us directly! I'm guilty of this and have put more time into reading the true state of our economy and our leading industies and to put it mildly we are up crap creek without a paddle! Maybe BP could pay our dept off too!  (Mar 6, 2013 | post #9)

Drug Dealer 40

Can I correct you on one thing you mentioned about cops not going after dealers in fear of being gunned down. Your right about the first part, they don't go after dealers but it's because there's no money to be made in just one arrest when you can make multiple arrests and multiple charges that then add up to thousands of revenue dollars in fines, probation fees etc all while giving the police the appearance of having a high arrest rate which results in more money allocted to them to combat the high crime rate! Like most things in life it's all about the money and another example of that is the legal drug industry that we are held hostage to! There is no money in the cure only in the treatment, what would happen to the companies that benifit from the cancer treatment and insurance industries if we found a cure and no longer needed their services?  (Mar 6, 2013 | post #40)

Review: Nautical Point RV Park & Rental

Bruce and Janet, It's good to see people write something nice about this area and especially the RV park as one person's opinion could hurt a business when it is on a busy website like this one! I don't know much about the RV parks in Panama City Beach area I'm just a loyal local and normally around here if your running a bad business people tend to hear about it and I never heard anything bad about Nautical Point until that post from Walewatcher! Maybe they were having a bad day! See ya next spring.  (Feb 25, 2013 | post #5)

Welfare leeches rejoice

I bet the states mentioned above have some sort of government agency that would cover travel expenses for those who choose to move! Especially California!  (Feb 23, 2013 | post #4)

Is this a conflict of interest?

March 4th is the next CRA meeting. I intend to go to these meeting from now on, not to bash their efforts but to represent the community. The application for Pilcher's $10,000 wasn't even on the meetings agenda! It was placed on the desk of the commissioners at the beginning of the meeting, the application was submitted to the CRA 24 hours earlier! Not enough time to check into the claim, no waiting list in St. Andrews grant procedure like Downtown CRA have to follow and the money went to someone who financially could afford themselves! I understand that sometimes money is tied up and if this was the case we could have loaned Pilcher the money on the condition when the property is sold we could use that money for another project while fixing his ugly eyesore at the same time! Am I the only one who can see this OBVIOUS solution to their issue!?  (Feb 23, 2013 | post #12)

Is this a conflict of interest?

It really upset me when I read about this money being awarded to Mr Pilcher which lead to research more into what he CRA is about, it's policies, laws etc and was horrified to discover that it clearly states in the Florida statutes 163.367 that no member of a city board, or public official etc, etc can receive money from a CRA! Mr Pilcher is vice chairman of the airport board, he was a city commissioner for 17 years, he and his family have ample of money to afford the clean up themselves and in case he tries to pretend it is owned by his sister, the above stated law also says no family members can receive this money. I then discover the CRA gave the owner of the Shrimp Boat Restaurant $32,000!!!~!!!!!!! because he needs help to clean up his crappy motel that he hasn't payed taxes on in 2 years and was at one point repossessed by the bank!!!!!!! What makes my blood boil the most is no longer the money, they'll do as they please with money no matter what anyone says but it's the fact the the 2 crappiest looking places on Beck Ave are owned by two wealthy prominent, and one being a city official, public figures of our community! It is a slap in the face to all who live in St. Andrews and all the other business owners and basically an insult to all of our intelligence! I am contacting the CRA, I would like their logic behind the two payments made in a space of three weeks and then I will report their actions to the Federal Government because this crap is going to end.  (Feb 21, 2013 | post #8)

Teacher Raises

I have learned a lot these past few days from other posts and opinions and about teachers unions! I hate to admit this but I may be starting to re-think my overall opinion on the whole teacher thing! Yeah I said it!!! I can't take away the great teachers I have met and got to know through my child attending school but there are some valid things to think about.  (Feb 18, 2013 | post #21)
