Pedestrian Killed in Charlottesville

People need to learn how to drive safely again and that you don't have to be on the phone or multitasking while driving. And pedestrians need to stop and not assume they always have the right of way in every situation. This poor soul paid the ultimate price for the society that moves to fast to stop and cares too little about each other's safety. I'm sorry to the family for their loss.  (Mar 27, 2009 | post #12)

Charlottesville Makes Forbes List for Nation's Best Small...

I wonder what liberal government official paid off Forbes to get on this list. This town has gone down the tubes and there is no turning back unless we get the right people in office to fix it.  (Mar 27, 2009 | post #8)

Groundbreaking for New Shelter

The only thing the liberal run government in this town cares about is getting their names in the papers and press for themselves. Who can afford shelter if there are no jobs for people to make money to afford things with?  (Mar 27, 2009 | post #4)

Grassroots Organizer Kristen Szakos to Visit President Obama

Can we borrow this guy from England to give Obama a lesson in how to speak and handle business!!! Seriously you learn in economics 101 you can't spend your way out of a recession but leave it to a liberal to think you can!  (Mar 27, 2009 | post #11)

Councilor Taliaferro Seeking Re-Election

There is an achievement gap not an opportunity gap. Throwing money at people will not make them get off the **** es and start getting into their childrens' education. Just because some students are too lazy to take advantage of the oppotunities is the fault of their parents not the tax payers.  (Mar 9, 2009 | post #4)

Charlottesville's Stimulus Project Wish List

I bet Charlottesville will just use the money to fund a liberal social program instead of putting it to create jobs and help schools.  (Mar 4, 2009 | post #3)

Will CLASS Program Suffer in Budget Cuts?

I'd like to remind everyone of the power they have over the school board now that it is an elected body. If you don't like what they are doing remind them when they come up for re-election and elect someone else to their seat that will do what you want done for your children. Now let a school board member say something disrespectful again.  (Feb 25, 2009 | post #44)

Central Va. NAACP Celebrates 100 Years

The problem is getting the NAACP to get back to its grass roots, and doing the work that needs to be done, and stop being a soap box for a few to use to further their political careers. But I have to admit, if giving my DNA would in any way help to protect the women of this community, I would gladly give it to prevent another woman from being raped.  (Feb 23, 2009 | post #72)

Central Va. NAACP Celebrates 100 Years

The NAACP is already diverse. My family stopped doing things with the NAACP because the organization is more about political grand standing then helping the community. Why aren't you more involved since you seem to be so passionate about it?  (Feb 19, 2009 | post #43)

Central Va. NAACP Celebrates 100 Years

You people" refers to individuals on this thread. Please stop seeing everything with a racial under tone when there is not one. In my opinion God made one race the human race some of us just have more pigment in our skin then others. If someone is afraid of someone having more education then themselves then they need to educate themselves and stop being ignorant and further their own education. The NAACP is now more a political platform, then a civil rights activist, and has gotten away from the stewardship and community progression it once had in the past, and I think it needs to get back to its grass roots and get involved and help people, and stop being a soap box for someone's political career.  (Feb 19, 2009 | post #29)

Central Va. NAACP Celebrates 100 Years

What is it with you people living in the past!? Get with the program no one ever got anywhere by looking back all the time. Learn from where you have been so the past is not repeated and the future is better for everyone. The NAACP is just a stepping stone for political agendas now and has gotten away from their original mission of improving race relations. These comments are very sad for how much our society has accomplished and progressed. Or maybe it hasn't progressed as much as I think? I wish you all would think before posting.  (Feb 18, 2009 | post #19)

Gaza Violence Prompts Charlottesville Protest

Excellently put. Once the college students realize how their actions truly affect the real world and their loved ones they will change their views. When we can finally punish the criminals and quit putting people away for multiple life sentences and just put them to death and be done with the evil they produce our society will be much better off.  (Feb 17, 2009 | post #5)

Revenue Sharing Agreement in Danger?

Everyone knows UVA is in the city limits and that Martha Jefferson is moving to the county because they city will not allow them to expand on their current campus to meet the needs and wants of the community they serve. The city is simply too liberal in their spending and need to control their budget instead of trying to take from others.  (Feb 17, 2009 | post #17)

Central Va. NAACP Celebrates 100 Years

If you paid attention in History class you know they had their place in the past. Now the NAACP is just a platform for people to use for their political agendas and their own needs and do nothing to help the community.  (Feb 17, 2009 | post #7)
