Miss who? Noah/Snarky...fat chance....I'd like to see him find a different pasttime along with most of the people on this forum... (Jun 11, 2011 | post #15)
1 Timothy 3: 1 Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. 2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of Gods church?) I wonder why the catholics just move the ones that don't qualify to other locations where they can start anew?!? Above reproach it says. Temperate or self controlled. There is that wife thing again.... (Mar 27, 2011 | post #1629)
1 Timothy 4: 1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. They forbid to marry...kinda like the catholics. (Mar 27, 2011 | post #1628)
Titus 1: 5 The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appoint elders in every town, as I directed you. 6 An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. 7 Since an overseer manages Gods household, he must be blamelessnot overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. 8 Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. 9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. Was that before or after the child molestation classes. Of course, so many of the catholic priests are well versed already, they may not need it. You can only be as good as your teacher. Poor, poor catholics. (Mar 27, 2011 | post #1624)
I understand Capn Greg on this one. Everyone has the opportunity to make money. You don't have to be educated to do it. I'm living proof. I have some college credits but it was only about getting money from my VA benefits to live on at the time. I moved on through the years and learned and after losing a few jobs. that if you want to stay employed you have to work enough that the boss thinks you're indispensible. I wasn't the smartest or the mostest at anything but I did the work of 2.5 men by the companies own point system. We were graded by the amount of work we accomplished each shift. The work I accomplished, that's where I ended up. The company, before the union got involved was one that considered us family. If we stood around long enough they threw money at us. Once the union came in that quickly changed, although, I was a salaried employee by then. The union brought with it a reasoning by the hierarchy that if it wasn't in the contract you weren't getting it. The employees from then on had to fight and kick to get anything from the company. The funny thing was whatever they fought and kicked for we received "just because". The scripture says if a man doesn't work, he shall not eat. That sums up what should be the truth. The problem being too many sit out there with their hand out. And instead of truly being needy they have learned what the government thinks is needy and have learned to play the system. The ones truly trying to take care of themselves never learn that. (Reminds me of a woman that worked out on the production floor that learned that she had to have three children before she was able to gain government assistance. She went out and had another kid out of wedlock just to make it so.) What's truly indescent is that she made $17 an hour and still was able to play the system. The people that make over $100,000 annually, net, are in the 39% tax bracket. How is that fair? If I figure out how to make that much in a year and do it justly, why should I be taxed more than anyone else. The tax tables start at about 15%(the last time I checked) and go up around $40,000 and continue up to 39% @ $100,000. They don't just tax the money above a certain amount but all of it once you reach that point. Anyway, the point I was making is that Greg has it right. We pay our taxes and for me, I'm glad I can help the legitimately poor and needy with my tax dollars. I would rather handle it on my own and give to those I run into instead of people that have learned to play the system and are not truly needy. (Mar 23, 2011 | post #261)
It's not up to you. God has spoken. He can't lie nor change his mind(another scripture, by the way). It doesn't matter what you think. There is only one name under heaven by which man must be saved(Jesus/Emanuel)...another scripture. (Mar 12, 2011 | post #1597)
You and Pete-o should get to know each other...you can keep other company in Hell. (Mar 12, 2011 | post #1594)
From the sound of one of your posts you like to abuse the scripture. So abuse this one... broad is the road that leads to destruction(your beautiful light) and narrow is the road that leads to life and few there be that find it. It ain't no broad highway. (Mar 12, 2011 | post #1591)
The only other choice is the devil. God = good, light, truth. Other spectrum is darkness or the devil, the lie. Chose what you want, I'm not making up what I'm telling you. I've been taught by God. Just like Paul said in Galatians. I've been taught by no man but by revelation from Jesus Christ. He also stated that if anyone comes bringing another gospel (even an Angel) let them be eternally condemned...I'm telling you the same. (Mar 12, 2011 | post #1590)
To put it plainly, and I'm not trying to be mean, but you are a liar. God is the word. If you change the word you don't have God. (Mar 12, 2011 | post #1588)
Gospel of John 9: 31 We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does his will. (Mar 12, 2011 | post #1584)
2 Corinthians 6: 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. 17 Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you. 18 I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. 1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. Now Noah, If I had asked this question of you... 1. You are an ignorant retard without intellect. 2. Do your own research.. 3. Or you would've ignored me. But just to show you I'm not going to get on your level. Here is a website about the Vietnam war and it's causes. Pay careful attention to the second section: Politics of American involvement. http://militaryhis tory.about.com/od/ vietnamwar/a/Vietn amOrigins.htm (Mar 11, 2011 | post #218)
