Andrea Cook

You an under educated coward hiding behind a fake name. Apparently you are on her Facebook and enjoy reading her post because you live through others and love to critique them. The one with the mental issues is you. YOU ARE PATHETIC. Apparently you aren't proud of your kids as Andrea is. Psychotic is posting on Topix your opinion because on Facebook everyone would know (most likely already do) what a sad case you are.  (Dec 23, 2014 | post #3)

Child Support

It is different but never akward. Maybe because I wasn't apart of the breakup and I have an ex myself. We do it for the kids. It's what they want that's important. I like her. It's nice not to have strain.  (Sep 28, 2014 | post #176)

Child Support

I don't understand why the new woman in a man's life thinks that his responsibility should end just because she is now in his life. My husband paid his and I received mine. I never thought that he should stop nor ignore his children. He had a life before me I respected that. He and his ex had children and they were their business. I believed in treating the kids with respect and tried to give them privacy with their dad. They all wanted me there. Now, his, mine and our children are grown. His and mine are married. Ours is in college. They all get along. We have a granddaughter and get together with his ex wife for her birthday. Respect, tolerance and patience has made us a happy family. It starts with adults acting like grown ups. On your statement about birth control being cheaper, totally agree. I think child support offi2ce should hand it out for both sexes.  (Sep 27, 2014 | post #171)

Shame on WalMart!

You are so right. I've been told that they can't get anyone to apply for a job. This is from someone who works there. I told him it's because of how they treat their associates which is much worse than how they treat the customer. We are not going to get a Target or KMart because the commerce has an agreement with Walmart. That's hearsay but we have not got one yet. I live in Newbern and shop here. If I need anything from Walmart I order it. Shipping is cheaper than gas and less hassle.  (Sep 22, 2014 | post #13)

"Bless you" incident debunked

You read it!!! The Associated Press and you were not there. They are repeating what was first reported. Where I received my information is from persons that were there. Information was shared that she lied about another teacher from another school that she attended. That's why she was kicked out. You do not even live in this state or region. So your gossip comes from the media that only repeats what had already been irresponsibly reported. The article I posted is from California that took the time to investigate. As one person posted, the girl dropped it and decided to home school. It's over. It was never about religion. It was a disciplinary issue.  (Sep 22, 2014 | post #26)

Child Support

Lying is just plain sorry. I'm a woman who was paid child support. When the state changed computer systems it show my ex 10,000 behind. He did not tell me for six months. When he called I was surprised. He asked if I would go down and sign that he did not owe that money. I told him of course. But I did remind him that I really should not because of the way he treats me and in the future remember I was honest. I don't think it is right for exes to behave in that manner. It will only hurt the kids. Note: He still was rude and inconsiderate.  (Sep 22, 2014 | post #162)

"Bless you" incident debunked

Miss, I know the teacher and how the suspension process is inacted. She left the class by choices and just sat in the room where the In School Suspension is located. SHE WAS NOT SUSPENDED. I will side with school on this. With the child's past lies about teacher in the city school (Dyersburg) I do not trust her account of the incident. Too many students are coming forward and telling a different side of the story. Why believe one student and not the ones coming forth with another account? With time every thing comes out in the end.  (Sep 22, 2014 | post #24)

Teacher did not send her to the office. The student left the room and went to the office on her own.  (Sep 16, 2014 | post #16)

"Bless you" incident debunked

You did not witness it yourself so what Kendra said could be lies. When more people say the same thing compare one who is known to lie about a teacher I will go with the majority.  (Sep 16, 2014 | post #15)

"Bless you" incident debunked

Two to three kids that were in the class went to their parents and told them that Kendra did not tell the truth about the whole confrontation. That she(Kendra) did YELL bless you across the room.  (Sep 16, 2014 | post #4)

Unemployment in Dyersburg Tn

The jobs are going to who the employer knows rather than who is qualified. That's why you will see the same job posted every other month. Two jobs were approved for Newbern City Hall. The two were already hired. The positions were never posted for the public to apply. Jobs posted as Blind Box in the paper is the same. Unless you know someone where they are hiring it does not matter how qualified you are the "someone " will get it.  (Sep 15, 2014 | post #2)

"Bless you" incident debunked

The Signal The California State University, Stanislaus Signal is a student run newspaper distributed every Thursday during the academic year except during vacation breaks. High school student suspension blown out of proportion By Scott Sikma on September 7th, 2014 A deceitful high school student has used social media to victimize her teacher, but that hasn’t been the reported story as the incident recently gained coverage across the nation. With headlines stating some alteration of “Student Gets Suspended for Saying ‘Bless You’ to Classmate,” this story has been framed to shape public opinion in favor of the student without taking the facts into consideration. Seventeen-year-old Tennessean, Kendra Turner, was suspended from Dyer County High School (DCHS) on Aug. 18 for shouting, “Bless you,” across the computer applications classroom after a fellow student sneezed. Her suspension was a technicality; Turner was sent to the principal’s office for violating the classroom’s disruptive behavior policy. She was then placed in in-school suspension for the remainder of the period in order to give administrators time to evaluate the situation accurately. She was soon able to leave and attend her next class. Turner distorted the incident and twisted it into a religious controversy. “I want God to be able to be talked about in school,” Turner said during a press conference held at Dyersburg First Assembly of God. “I want them to realize that God is in control and they’re not.” With privacy laws protecting student records from being disclosed to the public, Turner knew her side of the story would not be challenged by her teacher, Eva Kindle. There is a difference between a student quietly blessing someone he or she is sitting next to and a student deliberately causing a disruptive outburst. “I think this has really been blown out of proportion on social media,” DCHS Assistant Principal Lynn Garner said in an interview with the State Gazette. “In this case, this was not a religious issue at all, but more of an issue the teacher felt was a distraction in her class.” Since the incident occurred, Turner has made television appearances on news stations claiming, “It’s alright to defend God, and it’s our constitutional right because we have a freedom of religion and freedom of speech.” According to firstamendmentcent er.org, “[Public] school officials may prohibit speech that substantially disrupts the school environment [and] can restrict student speech that is lewd.” Social media has wrongfully made Kindle out to be “the bad guy,” but she is not the first teacher to implement a classroom policy in order to minimize disruptions. The phrase, “Bless you,” has become so ingrained in society that it is no longer a solely religious expression; “God” is even removed from it. The DCHS incident was less about the “bless” and more about the disruption. Would the same outcome have occurred if Turner aggressively shouted “gesundheit” instead? “[I] can say there are two sides to every story,” Garner said in the same interview with the State Gazette. “Sometimes people spin things and turn them to make them seem one way, but I cannot discuss anything specific in order to protect the child.” Aside from the few brief statements made by the DCHS Assistant Principal, the details of this story have come from Turner and her family. Is Kendra Turner as innocent as the media is making her out to be? I think not.  (Sep 15, 2014 | post #1)
