State investigates measles case in Otero Co.

Anti-vaccine activists have achieved their goal. Iradicated diseases are making a comeback. Polio, measles, mumps, rubella, et al. are all making a deadly comeback. Bad enough we live so close to the border where they rarely vaccinate. The anti-vax people should have to care for the victims of their stupidity.  (May 30, 2011 | post #9)

Does no one here recognize sarcasm when they see it? The fact that I am actually agreeing with Mr Hays is making me twitch a bit but even I saw his intent. Sheesh.  (May 19, 2011 | post #6)

What about the ranchers that have been murdered by criminals "accidently " trespassing on their land? What about the environmental damage done to the land by these "accidental " trespassers? Or the cattle killed? Or the rampant theft of anything not nailed down? Your sympathy is mislaid.  (May 19, 2011 | post #29)

Quotas put cuffs on LCPD

let it be Human said "Oh, and domitian, if you can't comprehend what is posted already, that's your problem, "BROTHER ". I expressed no lack of understanding. I called you out. If you are not willing to tell us where and how long you were a cop, then I call you a liar. Liar. Me? LCPD. 13 years. You? Time to put up or shut up. Your opinion is, of course, yours to have but don't pretend to be a cop and think that gives you credibility.  (May 19, 2011 | post #409)

Their View: Why do Americans still dislike atheists?

I can't believe that I, yet again, agree with P. Roy. I don't know how a religious person of character can actually justify their unconstitutional dogma being forced on the unwilling. On Thursday, there was a National Day of Prayer meeting in front of City Hall. There was a emotional prayer to Jesus from behind a city owned podium using a city owned amplifier system. The mayor and city council members were standing there praying with the faithful. I can't imagine an atheist group getting all those perks and attention. Where is their morality? Fairness? Impartiality? Do they represent all of their constituents? I think not. Believe it or not but about 20% of the folks in the USA are not rationality impaired. I demand representation!  (May 7, 2011 | post #55)

Wow. After all the forum jousting I have done with J.I.J.A.C(or Jijac as I call him) it is nice to know that I am not the only one that thinks he is defensive about something. Hey Justice, just because someone is telling the truth and you don't like does not mean they are lying.....  (Jan 27, 2011 | post #3367)

I really wouldn't have a problem with your "spirituality " if you and all your ilk kept it to yourselves. But you can't. You demand the Ten Commandments and prayer in schools. You demand creationism to be taught there as well. You demand prayer at high school sporting events. You demand everyone accomodate you and yours at every step but give no accommodation in return. You fly planes into buildings. You kill and maim in the name of your god. Religion poisons everything. I respect other peoples beliefs until they demand I think similarly. When you people spout off, I feel I have the right to spout off as well. I will not be silenced. At least not until your ilk have subjugated the Founding Fathers original intent of separating church and state. Sorry I won't give up my First Amendment rights. You have every right to believe what you want. That is your First Amendment right. Enjoy it. Hopefully, I won't be killed in one of your religious purges.  (Dec 23, 2010 | post #672)

City park restrooms to close for holidays

Where was Connor mentioned in the article? Do you really think she makes minor decisions like this one? Garza hasn't even warmed up his seat up yet. The last city manager hasn't left his job yet. Get a clue bro. I say let them go home and take a whiz or wear some depends. Some poor city employee would have to work on Xmas to take care of those bathrooms if they were open.  (Dec 23, 2010 | post #9)

If you can't see the difference between my intolerance of imaginary thinking and the atrocities that the religious have perpetrated in the name of their "faith", I really don't know what world you live on. I believe the religious have a corner on the intolerance gig. Defend the Crusades, 9/11, Jonestown, the Salem Witch Trials, The Westboro Babtist Church, Darfur, ad nauseum. You don't own this forum. When I see posts like the OP, I feel obligated to point out the obvious.  (Dec 23, 2010 | post #669)
