Mexicans and illegals not speaking English in our US.

Official statistics place the percentage for Hispanics in America having a B.A. or higher at 13% rather than 5%, which is still quite low. As you say, though, Asians are, by far, the members of the American population with the greatest number of college degrees (30%). http://www.census. gov/prod/2012pubs/ acsbr10-19.pdf  (Mar 18, 2013 | post #16)

Obama to serve a third term

Yes, facts are indeed wonderful things. Interesting that you should point out that the current president won re-election with fewer votes this time around. Absolutely true. At the same time, it's also interesting that, this second time around, he still nevertheless A) won more votes than his predecessor, GWB, won on his own second time around, and B) won more of the popular vote both times than his predecessor did. To re-post the figures: 2000 George W. Bush -0.51% of the pop. vote 2004 George W. Bush 2.46% " " " " 2008 Barack Obama 7.27% " " " " 2012 Barack Obama 3.85% " " " " This is not to say one president is better than the other, it's simply to observe what facts, such as these, show (in terms of voting).  (Feb 19, 2013 | post #41)

Should 18 to 21-Year-Olds Be Allowed To Carry Weapons?

If the most commonly used weapon in violent crimes in America is a baseball bat, it would be great to know the original source and link citing this, with the statistics. According to the FBI website, most of the murders committed are with firearms: http://www.fbi.gov /about-us/cjis/ucr /crime-in-the-u.s/ 2010/crime-in-the- u.s.-2010/tables/1 0shrtbl07.xls According to the FBI website, too, if one adds up the "weapons " used for robbery and those for aggravated assault, the added total for firearms is greater than for "other weapon" under which baseball bats would be included: http://www.fbi.gov /about-us/cjis/ucr /crime-in-the-u.s/ 2010/crime-in-the- u.s.-2010/tables/1 0tbl15.xls This is simply to provide some sourced statistics. If someone has other sourced statistics, it would be interesting to compare them.  (Feb 4, 2013 | post #13)

Regarding the percentage margin by which U.S. presidential candidates have won the popular vote, here are some of the figures listed in the following source--"List of United States presidential elections by popular vote margin"--are very interesting: http://en.wikipedi a.org/wiki/List_of _United_States_pre sidential_election s_by_popular_vote_ margin 2000 George W. Bush -0.51% of the pop. vote 2004 George W. Bush 2.46% " " " " 2008 Barack Obama 7.27% " " " " 2012 Barack Obama 3.85% " " " " 1988 George H.W. Bush 7.72% " " " " 1980 Ronald Reagan 9.74% " " " " 1984 Ronald Reagan 18.21% " " " " 1964 Lyndon Johnson 22.58% " " " " 1960 John F. Kennedy 0.17% " " " "  (Jan 31, 2013 | post #16)
