Is Key West still full of gays?

I live in Key West and don't really notice the 'gays' around town. It's mostly full of tourists and locals just hanging out having a good time. During October, Fantasy Fest, you will see a lot of 'gays' out. Although my main concern is some of the homeless who like to cause trouble.  (Sep 2, 2012 | post #6)

dogs on duval

Every time I went there, I had no problems. I keep reading stories about how "bad" this place is. The Owner, I assume she was, was pretty cool in my opinion. I bought a sports themed shirt for my dog and have checked out the puppies on my walks down Duval before. I can only speak from personal experience, but it's a nice place and I had no problems.  (Sep 2, 2012 | post #25)

Sam Chattin teacher at SMS

Mr. Chattin was a great teacher when I attended SMS. I had him as a teacher in 2003/2004. His methods are different than that of other teachers, but nothing that would raise concern. He encouraged us to think differently about the world and the things around us. SMS had many great teachers, but Mr. Chattin stood out among them all.  (Sep 2, 2012 | post #46)

Ex-MSNBC host Keith Olbermann heads to Current TV

Current TV only has a couple of good shows and with Keith Olbermann coming on, it will still only have a couple of good shows. No one can complain about Olbermann now because no one will be watching him. That's karma buddy.  (Feb 8, 2011 | post #14)

Pawlenty draws on Bible for his book

You just judge ALL Republicans as if they are the same person? I have 3 close friends who vote Republican and don't believe in God. It's nothing new. The media brainwashes people into believing "all Republicans believe in God." I also have friends and relatives who believe in God but are Liberals. Are you saying ALL Liberals/Democrats don't believe in God? That's another lie created by the media. Please don't let the mainstream media do your thinking for you.  (Jan 27, 2011 | post #769)

Sarah Palin: Journalists incite hatred after AZ shooting

I can easily say I find it hard for anyone to take Barack Obama and George Bush seriously. Most politicians can't be taken seriously. Most lack common sense. If you hate Sarah Palin, then talk about her. Don't go after her family like an immature junior high student. I don't like Bill Clinton, but I won't verbally attack his children or anyone else in his family. It does nothing for me or anyone else. Hell, I won't even verbally attack him. I would argue his viewpoints with a mature state of mind.  (Jan 25, 2011 | post #1158)

Gun limits don't work, and people don't want them

Believe me I want guns off the streets in the U.S. But I believe citizens should have the right to have a gun in their house, with a permit of course. I have defended myself with my fists against a man with a knife and got the best of him. All I am asking is why people are against homeowners with guns. It's not like I'm going to walk around town waving it in people's faces. It's going to be sitting in my lock box with the only way to get it is by key. I wouldn't even need to have it holstered to my side because I live in a nice neighborhood and know how to defend myself with my hands. I have family members who have guns and only use them to hunt and protect their home, that's it. None of them have ever had to use them on someone before, but it's better to have them just in case.  (Jan 25, 2011 | post #151)

Gun limits don't work, and people don't want them

You won't answer because you know the best answer is "a gun." If someone pulls a gun on you I doubt you would want a baseball bat or a knife in your hand to defend yourself. Wait a minute. You are for gun control yet you own guns. If you're allowed to have one where you work, then I should be allowed to have one in my house. Do you agree? If not then you're a hypocrite.  (Jan 25, 2011 | post #148)

Sarah Palin: Journalists incite hatred after AZ shooting

Claiming to be smarter than her is basically the same as claiming to be better than her. You're judging and criticizing her on statements she has made, therefore claiming to be better than her. You hate Sarah Palin but waste time talking about her. I don't like Barack Obama or the previous 3 Presidents but I don't go around talking about the mistakes they have made and the stupid comments they have made.  (Jan 25, 2011 | post #1149)

Gun limits don't work, and people don't want them

Thank you for not answering my question. Don't worry about it, I'm used to people not answering questions when they would have to give an answer they don't want to give. You don't live in America so you don't understand. If someone breaks into my house threatening me or my family with a gun or any other weapon, I would prefer to be able to defend myself with a gun instead of a bat or my fists. Don't get me wrong I wish guns had never been invented. But now that they exist, I would prefer to have one to protect myself from someone else who could possibly threaten my life.  (Jan 25, 2011 | post #137)

Sarah Palin: Journalists incite hatred after AZ shooting

You're insulting her husband, calling her daughter a slut, insulting her son who is in the military and calling her son who is autistic a "mongoloid. " And you're claiming to be better than her by using insults. The hypocrisy is overwhelming. You obviously lack class and common sense.  (Jan 25, 2011 | post #1136)

Sarah Palin: Journalists incite hatred after AZ shooting

Whoever blames someone other than the man who committed the crime is a moron. These anti-Palin morons will try to blame 9/11 attacks, WW1, WW2, the Cold War and probably even the extinction of the Dinosaurs on Sarah Palin. It's pathetic and childish how people will blame the shooting on anyone and everyone...EXCEPT the man who pulled the trigger.  (Jan 25, 2011 | post #1132)

Gun limits don't work, and people don't want them

Don't put words in my mouth. I am not in favor or see it acceptable for 20,000 people a year in a America killed by guns. My point is, is that if you take guns away, you take them away from law abiding citizens and the criminals will still get them regardless of gun control. So are you saying I shouldn't be able to own a gun and have it in my house to protect myself from someone breaking in and pulling a gun on me? You just blow it off with "yeah, yeah" as if you don't care if criminals have guns and kill people with them. If the criminals are going to get the guns either way, then I should be able to use mine to make sure I take care of that person. You say "if everyone owns one there are more to steal." Well, they won't be able to steal it if I pull it on them now will they? Are you getting this yet? My point, again...., is that crimes involving guns rose when the gun control laws were passed. If someone broke into your house and threatened you with a gun, what would you want to defend yourself with? Your fists, a bat, a knife, or call 911 which could take too long to respond? Or you could choose to have a gun which only takes seconds to line up a shot and take out the criminal. Which would you rather have?  (Jan 25, 2011 | post #132)

Gun limits don't work, and people don't want them

My point, which you obviously missed, is that the laws won't prevent the criminals from getting their hands on the guns. The valid question is, how exactly will the gun control laws work in the U.S. when it doesn't work in Australia or the U.K.? The gun control laws also take guns away from law abiding citizens, like myself, who only look to protect themselves. When you take away the guns from responsible U.S. citizens, you only help the criminals (who will get the guns regardless of the laws) by making their crimes much easier to commit. If someone breaks into my home armed looking to harm me or steal from me, I better have something better than a baseball bat to protect myself.  (Jan 25, 2011 | post #120)
