Rancho Cordova to Buy, Raze "Problem" Apartments

Quoted for truth. Also, did you notice that the blight at La Loma and Folsom has finally been fenced off? Wonder what's going to happen to that lot?  (Dec 29, 2007 | post #14)

Alex Trebek Striken with Heart Attack

Truly one of the most recognizable and respected faces in television entertainment. Here's hoping for a quick recovery.  (Dec 11, 2007 | post #2)

1. Learn to spell - your insults will be much more effective. 2. Do your homework. Bush *encouraged* home ownership early in his term. He held a gun to Greenspan's head forcing him to drive interest rates into the floor, causing people to make a run on the housing market. And when ARMs started becoming the Next Big Thing, he did *nothing* while millions of people signed up for payments they could never afford. 3. Bush's 'solution' is to freeze rates for the people that deserve them the least - the people that should never have bought a house to begin with. Meanwhile, responsible people with fixed rate loans and some equity left in their homes get to watch their property values decline while the idiots go and charge up another big screen television. This is far from over. It's going to get much, much worse before it gets better.  (Dec 11, 2007 | post #54)

Foreclosures at New Record High

Except when you buy, you're on the hook for repairs and most upkeep. I don't know about you, but I easily average more than $200 worth of work to my (45-year old) house every month.  (Dec 6, 2007 | post #49)

Citrus Heights Police Arrest Two in Yet Another High Spee...

Given that these clowns likely had no insurance - if they even had driver's licenses - I sure hope the owner of the car that was hit has adequate coverage.  (Nov 28, 2007 | post #3)

Two words: life insurance. Every adult should carry enough life insurance to erase all family debt - including mortgages - and then some.  (Nov 21, 2007 | post #84)

Rancho Cordova Debates Truancy Ordinance

It's also very, very old - we were using it when I was at Cordova High (and I'm now in my 30s). In the late 1980s there was an influx of Cambodian/Vietmane se/Lao immigrants that the (previously mostly-white) Rancho was unprepared for. Lots of fights at school culminating with two stabbings my junior year. Nowdays, 'Soviet Rancho' would be more fitting.  (Nov 8, 2007 | post #22)
