GfK Poll: A grouchy public sticking with Obama

I'm not disputing that he's 51%...but to drop from what he was 10 months ago until today is quite telling. He averaged consistently in the mid to high 60's after being in office a couple of weeks. A drop of 15 points or so should mean something to you. I'm betting it does to him... On 2/7-8, CNN had him at 76; on 11/1 it was 54. If he's doing such a hotshot job, how do you explain a 22 point drop in 9 months? http://www.realcle arpolitics.com/epo lls/other/presiden t_obama_job_approv al-1044.html#polls  (11 hrs ago | post #47)

Up next: A Latino president?

I'm not sure about the right and a Latino President. If Marco Rubio wins over Charlie Crist for the US Senate, just hide and watch how the right will back him. He's more far right than our dear governor, he was born in the good ole USA, and may very well have aspirations of the Highest Office in the land.  (14 hrs ago | post #138)

Up next: A Latino president?

Just curious why you find it necessary to post Rebel's profile info...you won't even register. If you'd ever seen a picture of her on here, you wouldn't mention the rest of your post either. Exactly what do you disagree with? She made points...are you willing to counter? Let us know what you think without trying to put someone else down. It doesn't work.  (14 hrs ago | post #137)

Republicans in 1 SC county censure their own US Sen. Lindsey Gr...

I think someone should remind South Carolina that this is, or is supposed to be, the UNITED States of America. That requires working together, compromising on some things, standing firm on some things, but in all things a willingness to listen to those who agree or disagree. If the Continental Congress had stayed as staunchly divided as we are now, there would never have been a Union.  (14 hrs ago | post #5)

GfK Poll: A grouchy public sticking with Obama

Perhaps even more telling is the belief that our country is not going in the right direction. Per RCP averages: 38.2% believe we're heading in the right direction 55.8% believe we're heading in the WRONG direction http://www.realcle arpolitics.com/pol ls/  (22 hrs ago | post #6)

Oregon police say at least one killed in shooting at office park

Another fired employee perhaps? Mercy, I hope everyone who's lost a job the past couple of years doesn't go on a shooting spree. Whatever the reason, this is happening way too often. At least in this case, the gunman took his own life along with another's.  (Yesterday | post #11)

1,000 Workers Lose Jobs in ICE Crackdown

Well, dang! It's about time. But some have found other jobs? Go get the employer! Fine them so much it's not profitable to hire illegals. Others have returned to their home countries. Funny thing...so many say that the illegals do the jobs that citizens won't do. The company who fired the 1200 janitors has already filled the jobs.  (Yesterday | post #2)

Obama Honors 13 Fort Hood Victims

I just watched the Memorial Service...beautifu l ceremony. May those who have fallen Rest in Peace. And may all the rest of us, armed forces and civilians, find peace. God Bless the USA. I did appreciate the President calling each one by name, personalizing their deaths rather than just being one of many. And Obama's words, "No faith justifies these murderous and craven acts; no just and loving God looks upon them with favor,"...off ered some indication that even he believes that it was indeed Hasan's faith that was the catalyst for these murders. And, that, we can agree upon.  (Tuesday | post #9)

FBI reassessing past look at Fort Hood suspect

Hasan didn't have to be directly associated with a terrorist organization to perform his own verion of jihad. He was sympathetic to his Islamic brothers and their mission so he decided to carry out his own personal jihad. I'm sure he never expected to live through it, but there goes his 70 virgins. He'll have a military trial. Do they still put the murderers before a firing squad? I hope so. And for those officials who cleared him of any threat: give up your job because you're apparently incompetent. And if the Army knew of his sympathies, I hope heads roll there, too. Enough of the PC that doesn't allow everyone to be disciplined equally. There's no way a white guy would have gotten by with the things Hasan did. He would have been stripped of his promotions and sent packing and maybe behind bars for a while.  (Tuesday | post #13)

Officials: U.S. Aware of Hasan Efforts to Contact al Qaeda

It would seem the FBI is reassessing their own actions. http://www.krem.co m/news/FBI-reasses sing-past-look-at- Fort-Hood-suspect- 69671977.html Even if he wasn't connected to an organized terrorism plot, he was obviously sympathetic to the Islamic causes. I think he just performed his home grown version of jihad. And that's terrorism regardless of whether he's attached to al-quaida or just a rogue jihadist.  (Tuesday | post #129)
